So is there like no place on the internet that can give the correct amount of copies sold for Sonic 2 and Sonic 3?
I know Sonic 1 shipped 15 million copies, but surely Sonic 2 has sold A LOT more than 6 million. The gap between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 numbers is just too big. Especially for a console that had 65% of the market share at one point.

It's pretty hard to find out Mega-Drive sales numbers around.
Especially numbers for Japan. I have seen the "TOP 10" once, and it was not that a reliable source.
On that time, Shining Force was the top 1 in Japan for the Mega-Drive, and Sonic 1 has sold something like 300k here... lol.

Hmmm, I don't understand why SEGA wont give out these numbers.
The current numbers make the Genesis and the Sonic games look less popular than they really were.

No one normal really cares.

Well it's annoying when you read people referencing these low numbers and small list of big sellers as evidence to how Nintendo was better than SEGA. (Which I have read many times in the past and also very recently, hench why I made this topic.)
It would be nice to have the correct numbers for once.

Just photoshop some gay porn of Reggie and Miyamoto, then give them that as evidence.

I've never seen 15 million for Sonic 1. That's probably for all the rereleases. The MegaDrive only sold about 29 million in its life, and most of that was 1992-1994. I highly doubt there were even 7 million MegaDrives on the market when Sonic launched.
I was always of the impression that Sonic 1 sold about 4.8 million, not counting pack ins, Sonic 2 sold about 6.7 million and Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles both put out about 2 million, one a bit higher, the other a bit lower. Sonic CD did about 1.5 million, if you're curious.
-
Well I'm wondering how much Sonic 2 sold WITH the pack-ins.
And the 15 million number from Sonic 1 came from this interview:

Yes, it was from bundles. And since Sonic 2 was eventually bundled with the Genesis too, surely the number must be higher.
-
Well yeah, but how long was Sonic 2 a bundle? And when did it become a bundle?

From watching part 1 of that video i learned sonic is
1 part Michael Jackson
1 part Santa Clause
1 part Bill Clinton
