Title: YAZUKA I & II to get an HD re-release on PS3?

A Sega release schedule appears to have outed an HD remake of the first two Yakuza games. Yakuza 1&2 HD Edition appeared briefly on the schedule, listed for PlayStation 3 release on December 1 at ¥5,229.

I wonder if this would be Digital or a full retail release like Ico/SOTC, DMC and the like?

Either way, English release would seem likely considering that both games are already translated. Would just be a case of taking games and putting them onto a Blu-Ray. Hell, they could even just make the Japanese version include the English language options and make it the same game worldwide.

Well, MS published Mass Effect 1.

Sony did not publish Yakuza, so it's not exactly the same thing.

No, but I'm relatively sure they sank quite a bit of money into the games in exchange for exclusivity.

The PS3 seems to be getting a lot more of these HD collections than anything else though, so I'd assume it's exclusive.

I like how, not only is this a leak of information that hasn't been officially announced yet, but also somehow they got the issue of Famitsu prior to its official release too. ;D Must... find out... SOONER!!!
