Here's the short version:
* PAX will run from August 31st to September 2nd;
* Nine games are expected to be playable at PAX Prime;
* Aliens: Colonial Marines, All-Star Racing Transformed, The Cave, Hell Yeah!, Jet Set Radio, Nights into Dreams, Phantasy Star Online 2 and Sonic Adventure 2;
* SEGA's PAX list shows the following entry: "Unannounced digital title (new IP)"
Let the speculation fly. Is it an arcade port from an existing game, or if it's a completely new IP, will it be something trully fresh or based on a license?
-
...It says right there its a new IP.
-
I speculate that it'll be 'Regular Donkey Square' a game in the same vein as Super Monkey Ball, but a bit more average and a bit more cumbersome.
-
What I would like to know is, where the hell is Anarchy Reigns.
-
Moved to Q1 2013, it seems. Some UK stores are giving a January 28th release date on this (normally it's just a placeholder date, but it's so specific).
But anyway, back to the topic in question, let me rephrase my sentence. It could be a game based off a recent TV, anime or movie property, which in terms would qualify as a new IP in and of itself. I mean SEGA had Bleach for a while...
But thinking more clearly it's highly unlikely that it's a licensed game of sorts, I mean those are dying a slow death even as we speak.
-
Keeping my expectations low, probably some XBLA game that looks average at best and made by some iPhone development team.
OR AM2's NEW TITLE HOLY SHIT FIGHTERS MEGAMIX 2
-
@MadeManG74
I would pay BIG BUCKS for Fighters Megamix 2. lol
-
Is Jack Lumber the new IP they were talking about?
-
No, since that was already revealed and released. It'll be a new IP, just not sure what it'll be...

This is good news, as I thought that was the unannounced IP they were talking about.
Hmmm....what genre has SEGA neglected the past few years? I bet it'll be something we don't expect at all genre wise and I hope it's something the audience in general will be interested in.
-
To be honest, don't count it. SEGA's been lacking in some genres, namely big budget RPGs and sandbox games (they had an Alan Wake-esque title by Silicon Knights in development that got eventually canned). I expect neither of those will be the said IP. I expect it to be something along the lines of a Renegade Ops or Hell Yeah!, or maybe something that might be an episodic adventure title.
Then again maybe not, because The Cave is somewhere along the lines of an adventure game...
So let's wait and see...

Tob Jubert, who is a writer on that unannounced Vita Adventure game (which later became Vita/iOS) said :
Sunday. I cannot wait. If you're at the show, do swing by and say hello - and if all goes to plan check back here on Friday, 31st August for an announcement about which I'm very very excited.
So its possible that the new IP ends up being this.
-
That's interesting, I really hope it's a new IP
i asked back when jack lumber was revealed if that was the new IP being teased for pax, and Kellie replied saying it was, but yeah, maybe she was just saying that?

Edit: Sorry wrong thread. :o
We haven't heard about Vita/iOS dev in a while...
