The Footage was revelead by Datastorm (http://http://www.datastorm.se/)
In 1994 Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (today EA DICE -> Battlefield 1942, Battlefoeld Bad Company, Midtown Madness 3, RallySport Challenge, Mirror's Edge) worked on an unreleased and forgotten Genesis game called Hardcore.
The project (a run and gun shooter) was 99 percent complete with just one bug, and Psygnosis cancelled with others games (13 projects).
Psygnosis and Sony still own Hardcore's license but in the video Andreas Axelsson (co-founder of DICE) says they're working to make public the game.

That game looks like it would have been decent. Maybe not as good as Gunstar Heroes and Contra Hard Corps, but still a nice exclusive for the system. ^_^
-
That looks pretty cool
-
Not as fluid as the above mentioned games, but it looks incredible.
A twin stick gameplay on one of the new consoles would fit really well.

The level design kind of reminds me of Vectorman, and that is a good thing.
They should update for the PSN (AFAIK the company that owns the rights was purchased by Sony ages ago) with a Shadow Complex-similar control layout.
-
Why bother updating it? It seems perfectly nice the way it is. :)
-
You cannot move and shoot at the same time, that is not "Perfectly fine".
-
Then just modify the original source code. It'd be a lot cheaper than remaking the entire game from scratch.
-
If they were to edit the title it would not be their money going into the project, it would be the publisher's. The publisher would also have to spend money already to set up the trademark, get Sony to see the game, etc. I doubt just adding such a basic control setup would cost any more money than all of that.

Um, remaking the entire game from scratch would remove these costs, how...?

To enjoy HardCore, one has to play their Megadrive in the nude with a fully erect Penis.
