For maniacs, I assume. Wii users dont understand that "Sega feeling". I think they will not like the original graphics from MODEL 2 and 3.
WTH there are no changes?
-
Nice, now on front page!
-
I suggest not reading the YouTube comments. Bunch of stupid children.
"Bwaaa! This isn't Wii graphics! Looks like a Dreamcast! Bwaaa!!"
-
LOL Looks like that villain is giving the finger at the tail end of the trailer. (Yea, I know, he's pushing on his glasses.
This really has a retro look with those low polys. Looks like fun.
-
This could actually be the tipping point for me getting a Wii. This, Overkill and HOTD II&III Return. Basically I want lightgun games on the HDTV. THat, in my opinion, is the best thing Wii has going for it.
-
Indeed, some of the comments I have read suggest that these people don't even know what a Sega Saturn looks like.
Having said that, while I am glad that this is getting a release, it's gonna be one of those budget releases that can get finished in about an hour.
My guess is that Jurrasic Park: The Lost World arcade game is next.
-
I'll be all over this one when it comes out.
-
What I said on the youtube vid's comments. It's only understandable for people who are not aware of the games' origins to be think the graphics look poor, presuming these are new games or something. Maybe the trailer should emphasize that these are arcade classics.
Seems a bit odd that Sega passed on putting the first House of the Dead on 2+3 Return due to looking "too dated" when one of these games is even older. *shrugs*
Still, the more ever-before-ported arcade games the better. I hope Sega are planning to release more on the Virtual Console arcade too, specifically the 2D games like Golden Axe Return of Death Adder and Outrunners. As for retail: a Virtua Cop trilogy pack would be just the ticket (with Confidential Mission as a optional bonus).

I love Confidential Mission :D

I love Confidential Mission :D
WHO ARE YOU?
HOWARD GIBSON. SECRET AGENT.
-
Ah, almost forgot about Confidential Missions.
Should make for a great XBLA port, if it ever arrives.
-
I do not know why people want these on XBLA instead. Lightgun games with analog sticks or dpads is just simply not fun.
As for Gunblade NY: Special Air Assault Force and L.A. Machineguns: Rage of the Machines Arcade Hits Pack being announced for Wii. It is pretty cool, I am really happy that SEGA has been treating their older arcade titles that never got home releases with more respect. I hope this does well.
But seriously, that is a crazy title, or as it will henceforth be called: GBNYSAAF&LAMGROTMAHP for Wii.

I think that was just a BS excuse from Sega so they didn't have to say 'We couldn't be arsed putting it in'. HOTD 2&3 was just a port of the Xbox HOTD3, which had HOTD2 as a bonus on the disc. By doing those two they could basically just port over the Xbox game with some changes.
-
Once Sony move casual shock controller comes out it would be better to bring the arcade light gun games there digital style.

That release was by Sonic Team. What did you expect?

A House of the dead port by Sonic Team? Really? Oo-er.

what are you talking about !

Sonic Team ported The House of the Dead on the Wii far as I know.
-
Huh, I'm surprised the ports weren't completely broken then.
-
Soooo this game is out now.

Hello everyone, I’m Mie Kumagai producer on Gunblade NY/L.A. Machineguns we thought you’d like to know a bit about the history behind these two titles from 1995 that we are now bringing to the Nintendo Wii and a little about what we have also added.
Guunblade NY
In 1995, 3D CG games were in their infancy and design techniques such as polygon representation and texture mapping were relatively primitive compared to today’s standards. The artists designing Gunblade NY worked hard to replicate the skylines of New York City and capture the atmosphere of Times Square, and Fifth Avenue with limited technology available.
Gamers experienced the world’s first gun game where the enemies evade, retreat and chase on their own initiative. Offense and defense against A.I. enemies was a fresh new concept and what the game lacked in style, it made up for with experimental ideas from a Development Team inspired by new possibilities.
Example of unplanned ideas adopted into the game:
Press and hold 1P & 2P trigger at the end screen and see what happens…
The end of Gunblade NY has a lot of fun tricks.
L.A. Machineguns
Three years after Gunblade NY and now using one-step advanced technology, SEGA achieved a new arcade board with massively improved graphics. This time the setting of the game was moved to the future for more appealing visuals. The LA photo shoot was bigger than NY, enhancing the realism of the games’ backdrop and adding a sci-fi feel. The missions were also given a more in depth back story.
Next week, Director Motoshi Takabe will be revealing some hidden secrets and advanced techniques that you might not be aware of. We’ll also be looking at the additions to GBNY/LAMG.

Mie is still around! Yay I wondered where she went off to.
In any case, I'm glad her teams been working on the port, hopefully it's a success and SEGA gets to port more games onto console, I'm holding out for the House of the Dead 4 on Move, that would be quite excellent.

What a lovely little pack this is. GunBlade NY is one of my fav Gun games of all time, and its still looks and plays like a dream onthe Wii .
Well impressed with LA Machineguns too
I just wish AM#3 would port the Lost World Gun game. That for is the best light gun shooter I have ever played , and still to this day looks and sounds brilliant.
-
This is the game with the SATBK ads right?
Oh, I wish this game was on Wiiware instead. It would fit so much better as I consider the XBLive,PSN,and Wiiware a good place for arcade games. Especially if the games are ports and don't take too much advantage of the Wii.
INB4 Wiiware limit is too small. :<
Separate them into 2 games for 10 dollars?
-
WiiWare games sell in the hundreds. That would have completely ruined any chance of profit the games could ever get again.
I hope this sets up the way for even more arcade collections. SEGA has enough hidden gems that are exclusive to the arcade that they could make hundreds more of these packs and still have tons of cool games to show off.
-
100's? Um, I doubt that.
And are people even going to buy this game at retail?
