Title: 3DS Space Harrier and Hang On
Post by: Emmett The Crab on November 28, 2013, 10:50:41 am
Anyone know what time these are supposed to arrive on the Nintendo 3DS shop?  I've been watching this morning.

I'e been checking all morning, and they just arrived!

So far the controls on Space Harrier feel a little stiff.  Like there's a delay between the controls and the movement.  You can use the directional pad, the analog pad and the stylus and lower touch-screen to move.

The touch screen controls are weird to get used to, and the analog pad snaps harrier back to center all the time, and the directional pad feels stiff.  Still trying to tweak the controls to get it feeling more natural.

Space Harrier has always felt like that to me. Can you compare it to the PS3's Space Harrier or something please?
I'm getting Super Hang On for sure!

I didn't know there was a PS3 Space Harrier.  I have it on Master System, 32X and Saturn though.  The 3D looks great, the music is spot-on, and the controls will take some getting used to, I guess.  You get to continue as much as you want and your score doesn't reset, just like you are feed the arcade machine quarters.  Then once you've visited a stage, you can forever start from that stage.  I haven't played all the way through yet, only because I keep stopping to fiddle with the settings.

Using the stylus to control Space Harrier is awesome! I finally feel like I have a real handle on the controls, and I'm able to actually progress quite a bit through the game before dying.

I might get super hang on first. I'm waiting for the 3DS/WII U unification of the balance so I can get it with the money I have left on WII U.

It's weird how hard it is to input your initials on the high score list.  There's a big delay between the input and putting the initial on there.  Super Hang On doesn't have this problem for some reason.

I bought them up as well and hoping they do well enough that Sega will delve deeper into their much neglected arcade past to update more treasures. Zaxxon? Congo Bongo? SPACE FURY???

Never understood why during the Xbox/PS2 era, in the midst of huge arcade retrospective collections coming out (sometimes multiple times), Sega waiting till the next generation and chose to only include a few arcade morsels as unlockables in the Genesis/Megadrive collections on Xbox 360/PS3/PSP)

Barry, you're right.  i gave the stylus control a second chance, and it works really well.

I want Laser Ghost in the next Line up.

Played it at PlayExpo but the damn gun wasn't fucking working. >_<

Looked pretty amazing given it's a unique European only Master System port.

^ This. For me, it's the best port of this old game yet. Looks great, controls great. Stylus control FTW!

Does the Ecco 3DS port include the SEGA CD music?

After the big 3DS update today that combined my balances, I got super hang on and sonic 1. I like the 3d function but I can see how someone doesn't find it practical, but is it me or does the 3d work EXCELLENT with these 2d games?

Would love to see a 3D Outrun.  Been playing that arcade a lot since my friend managed to get a working one...

I just got Streets of Rage and Shinobi 3.  i highly recommend the Death punch mode, or whatever they call it where it's one hit kill.  Really fun.
