Something that has been rubbing me the wrong way recently is the intense hatred and/or love for her. I mean, I'll gladly admit there are numerous and valid reasons to hate her, but I'd rather be a lover than a fighter when it comes to characters, and I can't stand the energy behind some of the hate. What happened to the presumption of innocence? My own regard for her is equal and opposite to her belief of requited affection. I'm cool with her screwing with Sonic if she doesn't seriously believe it'll work. But if she really does... (http://i.imgur.com/pGOoLXX.gif)
So, what are your thoughts? Is she an infallible angel, or should she burn in the pits of hell? Let's keep it casual.

She's annoying. Then again, I also dislike Tails. She tends to come off more bratty then sweet, and her infatuation with Sonic, ESPECIALLY in Heroes where it was taken to the point of violence, always kind of creeped me out.
I did kind of like her in Unleashed I guess. I also remember liking her in Sonic X (though it's been years since I've seen that, given I can't stand to watch it these days). But for me, that doesn't really make up for everything Sonic Adventure through 06.

I'm sorry for my last post. I was thinking that no one would reply, cause we generally don't talk about Sonic characters here. So I was trying to help out, but after talking to Nuckles I realized my post could of came off as being mean. So I apologize for that.
Anyways... I think Amy is quite annoying at times! but she seems to really like Sonic.
Also, moving this topic over to general SEGA discussion

She can be really aggravating, there's no getting around that. I can only hope she's aware of it.

All Sonic characters with the exception of Professor Pickles and Wentos are shit.
-
But what about Mephiles? :( You don't love his loveable hijinks?
-
At least she wasn't all over Sonic's spikes in Lost World lol.
-
Not quite at the level of neutral appreciation for me, so I'd say a little obnoxious.

WARNING: Old gamer rant ahead!
Amy, as she was originally presented in Sonic CD, wasn't annoying. What she eventually became is a different story, but that's not a situation unique to her. Personally, I can hardly stand any of the modern Sonic characters, including the blue hedgehog himself.
-
Quite frankly I do find her somewhat annoying however I honestly think her and Sonic are a better couple than Sonic and Sally. (And yes i'm dead serious about that.) I find her to be cute in Sonic CD, and after that she's been alright I suppose. She's still not as annoying as Chip from Sonic Unleashed though IMO.

Older version of Amy had her really Sonic crazy with Sonic Heroes having her at her worst. However, lately with the inclusion of Cream the Rabbit as her sidekick, she's become a little bit more independent and more of an adventurer. In Sonic Lost World, she's afar more concerned with the flickies and little critters than flirting with Sonic and the last Sonic Universe Arc "Pirate Plunder Panic", she teams up with Blaze, Cream and Marine and doesn't bring up Sonic through the entire adventure. Plus, unlike Princess Peach, she's rarely a damsel in distress and fends for herself.

I thought that Cream is more DiD for a Trope than Amy Rose.
I have a hidden admiration of her to be quite honest. I agree that she comes off as annoying, but she seems to know what she wants, and doesn't regret it, and I can get behind her mentality there.
And as someone above me said, she doesn't really mention Sonic when she's doing her own thing.

Amy's old design was so 90's, I loved it. The Sonic Adventure redesign wasn't bad, but for me there is a clear separation between the Amy of CD, Drift, and Fighters and the Amy of Sonic Adventure and beyond.

I believe that, despite Sonic not owing her requited feelings, there's some merit to her "typical" demeanor, and if Sonic didn't think so, he'd tell her to stop.

I still think of Amy Rose as how she was in Sonic the Comic haha. Modern Amy is pretty much just Minnie Mouse to Sonic as far as I'm concerned, and she has pretty much always been a shallow character in the games story wise, though her story in Sonic Adventure was ok. Her new voice in the last couple games is somehow even worse than before too, hahaha. I think from what I've seen they have been writing her better in recent Archie comics, at least.

Amy and Sonic are modeled after the Girl in "Girls Garden", where she brings flowers, to him, instead of the red haired girl. Which reminds us, of the tale of two Sallys. The same is suggested for the "Nights" boy and girl, characters.
I remember back in highschool, junior-high, and grade school their were many kinds of Amy Roses. That is sappose to be normal to have a girl lust after you, even if it is for crazy reasons. That is what I like about Amy Rose. She is Sonics biggest fan, and is sappose to be like that blonde from Felix the movie.
