the in game graphics are definitely looking much better compared to the reveal trailer we saw.

It looks really beautiful.

That radio silence is actually paying off really well. Looks great!

It taking inspiration from pso1 is something I heard before with pso2 which may be true aesthetically, but I feel the rest ended up being false. But at least the combat wont be like pso2 so that's at least something that's worth my attention. Not that I think pso2's combat is bad but I like that it's not going to feel like the same game in a single player experience. I Makes me glad I got a vita though.

New Trailer, feels very Tri-Ace. Not a bad thing though :) Tri-ace is very familiar with futuristic space games. Curious to see how they handle the Phantasy Star franchise.

An entirely pre-rendered trailer inspires nothing resembling confidence in 2014 I'm afraid.

tri-Ace is an awesome developer. I have faith it will be good. Probably saving gameplay for TGS.

tri-Ace has a reputation for games that are mechanically-tight. So, interesting gameplay systems and such. Remember Resonance of Fate and it's (polarizing, but) unique battle system. I'm not that familiar with Star Ocean but I think most everybody liked their action-focused battle systems, at least the ones I know from 3 and 4.
Visually it looks better now than it did before.

Resonance of Fate confuses me so bad. I need to give it another try somtime. I like Star Ocean 4 though. Also like Star Ocean 3 on the PS2. One thing that amuses me in Star Ocean 4 is the super realistic CGI opening with super realistic people like you would see in western games. Then you start the actual game and nothing but anime influence, heh.

Although I gotta say the in game character models for Star Ocean 4 are definitely creepy, but hey, it was tri-Ace first HD game. They obviously learned from their mistakes judging by Resonance of Fate. the characters in that game dont look creepy.

I be honest. I just can't get into anything past SO2 series. After that uptil Blue Burst, it all wented down hill. Just like Final Fantasy X and up, their are too many stereotypes. FFX-X2, just had too many stereotypes, until FFXII where it final just decided to be DADish.
I like how the kept the Underworld/Demon King/Goblin King/Gaberial/Satan/etc ( the inorganic made one ) in the whole series as the underlining foe. The mutants, and artificially created magical beings.
Speaking of Blue Burst, which pretty much has an end Senario as with Phantasy Star II ( you fight an alternative version of yourself in the end ). So it is pretty much inevitable.

holy shit robots in PSO2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clCHgc8hlxY
Haven't touched the game in over a year but goddamn this looks amazing.
-
Sega just threw in a bunch of stuff, to make the game to lure people into it.
The Hucasts are basically "Virtual On" type bots. However they have more of an Virtual On controls, but you need upgrades, and things to buy. Basically the same thing as with the "Rangers" from "Burning Rangers"
Then their is also the jumping, thing going on. I know it looks great and all. Also it is free to play right now. They charge money like Maple story for all the fancy stuff, so no more hunting for item drops and things like that.

New gameplay video. It looks like PSO2 but with more R&D invested in the graphics, music, etc. That's a good thing.

Also..I play the mecha-emergency quest thing and it was aaaaaaaawesome....but I couldn't pass the last wave even in normal. So much difficult.
-
But that video is about PSNOVA or PSO2?
-
It was NOVA. If the dungeons aren't randomized that'll be a giant step in the right direction.
