Same-y locations, hopefully Sam won't be voiced by Nolan North, I got bored of the guy.

I will always refer to Sam as "Uncle Sam". Bruce Campbell for Sam's voice actor!

Posted on the front page.

The face has that tired western ambiguous look, now if only the suit and mech designs were more generic and the game featured more brown, punctuated by dumbed-down casual gameplay, my mass audience gaming brothers and I could embrace it.
I'm going to ask my 12 year-old cousins if this wins their stamp of approval. The games they like seem to sell millions.

I am getting a major Metal Gear-ish vibe from Sam's face. I am not sure if this is a very good or very bad thing.

Not sure what you are trying to get at, try to remember that Sam is actually not supposed to be or look like an Asian man. I think he looks way closer to Metal Gear's Vamp than Nathan Drake.

What exactly do you want more from a face?
Anyway, translation from magazine:
*They played the demo.
*You cant use the Bullet time while you're covering.
*The real difference from other shoothers(apart from the suit), is the speed.
*You cant use the bullet time at any moment, only during a boost.
*Slide and bullet time are limited and need to be recharged after using them.
*Only While you're on the air and pointing, the time becomes slow(similar to the slow motion in VJ).
*They were impressed by that^^
*After a few enemies, they used a turret to fight against the boss of the level.
*That boss was a giant robot with 4 legs.
*With a long campaign, they wont miss the online.
*so far, looks fantastic
*they called Platinum Games one of the most important japanese developers.
*They didnt like Infinite space
*They called Madworld one of the most important wii games
*They called Bayonetta the second best hack n slash(Behind GOWIII).
*They said that the intention of PG with that level, is keep the player moving all the time.

Don't start your bullshit here, you aren't even making sense. How can a face be generic? Take some time out and think about your arguments, because either you're a very good troll or you're just embarasing yourself now.
Anyway, I have to admit the locations are getting a bit old, they don't seem to have much variety in the screens. At the same time, Bayonetta showed off the same levels over and over in screens and we didn't really see the HighWay, plane and Paradiso levels until release pretty much.

This game could easily be my most anticipated.

Really? ...Really?
We know next to nothing about the game, half of the stuff revealed has made you question the quality (to be fair, it was basic stuff, but still), we do not know of everyone who will be working on it, many of the titles the director has worked on turned out to be crap like P.N.03 and you STILL want this more than Alpha Protocol, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, Virtual-On Force, Phantasy Star Portable 2, Aliens: Colonial Marines and Yakuza 4 just to name a few? And these are just some of SEGA's releases, there are tons of other great games coming out from other companies just this year!
You are insane!
-
Well, There is no official word on if we will see VF5:FS, PS:P2... Not to mention im not a fan of handhelds. I was never a massive fan of Virtual On and I know that I loved Bayonetta... Plus the latest scans looks fantastic.
So yes its up there.

Aside from P.N 03 (which garnered a big cult following) I loved every game he made, Resident Evil is a legendary series, especially with RE4 (which inspired the most popular TPS's today) Godhand was pure awesome, the art direction might not be that good, but the gameplay is so satisfying, I don't think a beat em up game will top it for me anytime soon. Dino Crisis is also fantastic (So is Aladdin on the SNES).
The games he produced like DMC and Viewtiful Joe were received well with the critics.
Saying many of his titles turned out to be crap is pushing it, Shinji Mikami is an industry legend, and that is enough reason to make Vanquish on my most wanted list.
None of SEGA's to-be released games looks better than Vanquish right now IMO, so why not get excited?

I do not think mentioning any game having cult-status has any merit as that can be said about any game, really.
He has worked on a lot of good games, but I do not think many of his games are great. Not to mention I think P.N 03, Dino Crisis 3 and killer7 are some of the worst-playing games I have ever encountered in recent years. I do not agree with him being considered a legend at all, and I do not see how anyone could.
I do not think Vanquish looks bad or anything though, I am actually way more excited for it now than I ever have been. I am just shocked to think some people could want this more than something like Yakuza 4 when we seriously barely know anything about Vanquish. If anything it makes the rest of SEGA's lineup seem so poor when you can say any other game you know barely anything about is significantly better.

Except he was only just an executive producer for Dino Crisis 3, and he produced Killer 7, the only game that you seem to think it was bad under his direction is P.N 03, in which he admitted that he was not given enough development time with it (Especially when he was working on more that 2 titles at the same time)
We know enough about Vanquish so far to get excited... Yes we did not see any gameplay videos, but there has been a lot of info and impressions alongside tons of screens. Maybe you should read more articles regarding the game.
Also, when was Yakuza 4 confirmed for the west? EDIT: *huge chunk of Yakuza Rant deleted* nvm.
The official Western SEGA line-up is rather poor, aside from Vanquish, there is only Sonic 4 that I'm interested in, and I hope Sonic Team/Dimps won't screw this one.

Segas line up doesn't look poor to me, If I knew I was going to play then anytime soon I would be excited for Valkyria Chronicles 2, Phantasy Star Portable 2, Yakuza 4 and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown... But I don't.
Currently, Vanquish looks awesome too me, we are 100% getting it. I loved Bayonetta, it's one of my favourite games this gen and it's build on the same engine by the same company... I don't see a single reason why it shouldn't be one of my top up coming games!

I said that not all of the games he has worked on have been that great, not just directed. I will readily admit people like Yu Suzuki worked on truly awful games, so I see nothing wrong with calling out others. He could have said he did not want to work on said game if he did not want to, it was all his choice to work on those games.

I have read a lot, but I have seen hours of gameplay, dozens of plot summaries, and seen just about every character from Alpha Protocol. For this I can understand people saying it is their most wanted game, but for something we have only heard about how it plays and not knowing much outside of maybe... 6% (assuming this number) of the content of the title, I just do not see how anyone could get extremely exited outside of just being a general fanboy of the studio or company.

It was not, but considering recent comments by Mike and that Yakuza 3 has actually been a very good seller considering SEGA marketed it wrong and the fans became retarded with the announcement of cuts makes me certain Yakuza 4 will be leaving Japan sometime soon, but I am not sure of Kenzan or Black Leopard.
PM me that rant though! :P

I would say their lineup is great with tons of different genres and styles that appeal to tons of different consumers. I would say they have one of the best lineups in the industry now even!
I can understand you only being interested in certain games though.

It is not on the same engine, they said the game will be based on the PlayStation 3, while Bayonetta's engine was based on the Xbox 360.
I do not really think it will be very similar to Bayonetta really, but I do not say that in a bad way. I just think you guys are waaaaaay too excited for this too early on.
-
Alright, I understand your opinion.

No, it is the Bayonetta engine, but "highly modified"... That's what PlatinumGames said.
-
Alright, I understand your opinion.
I hope you did not take that the wrong way, I am just surprised how excited you two are for the game and how poor you think SEGA's lineup is in comparison. I was not trying to sound like I have a 'Better opinion' or anything.

Oh, my bad then. It will be interesting to see it all in motion as I think Bayonetta's engine was best set up for loading different types of settings fast. To my knowledge, PG never worked on the PlayStation 3 yet either.

Nope, I did not take that the wrong way or I got offended, I'm just saying that I understand your point now :P

I hope it will run on 60FPS, since its supposed to be ultra fast, going below 30FPS won't look good with fast games.
From what I've seen, the graphics does look better than Bayonetta, there is less aliasing and the shadows looks much better.
