You just don't get this kind of journalism at Sega Nerds.
Before everyone gets mad, I'm just fooling around.

Slow news day.

people could cover more JP sega things, like kopke does at sega nerds.
yeah it aint games that we will actually play, but hell who cares

The Japanese Sega game articles may get frustrated/snarky comments with words to the effect of "why are you guys writing this, we're not getting it anyway." There's one instance of this I remember. I'll look it for later if you guys wish, I think it was something I wrote about Yakuza Zero or something months ago.
I don't agree with the sentiment at all but on some level it's a sentiment that represents more than one reader, I would think.

.... is this real life? This is what is wrong with a SEGA site covering a SEGA fan made game that made it on wiki?
Its about video games, seriously... the whining is so bad.
We just posted a great new episode of My Life with SEGA, why don't you guys praise us for content you like instead of bringing up 1 article in the 4k+ we do that you don't like?

It's okay George, I still love you. <3

Surprised there is no main-page news-post that the official Sonic Merchandise Store sells these socks:

You guys? i aint say nuttin...
Its what i'd expect though considering...covering the trivial and the important news..that's why Segabits is the place to go.
This type of support won't earn me a kudos though...

Mademan has been banned for crimes against SEGAbits.
Naw, but seriously, I know Mademan is joking (OR ELSE) but like ROJM we try to cover the big news and the trivial news, and everything inbetween. We are a fan site after all, so we try to cover stuff big and small, stuff you are likely to not see at Kotaku or IGN where SEGA is a small fish in a big pond. It's the smaller stuff that makes us unique. Stuff like a Sonic fan game making the front page of wikipedia was something I thought was unique and interesting enough for a news post, and it was a piece of content for Sonic Retro that cross posted to bits.
There are limits, however, to what we'll report on. Stuff like Child of Eden or Crimson Dragon may get a few stories, but nothing beyond their announcement and perhaps SEGA easter eggs. Fan games loosely based on SEGA games that have no real connection outside of "oh, it plays sorta like Golden Axe" are also likely to not be seen. Though fan games based on SEGA IPs, or running on SEGA hardware, would be seen on the front page. However, I'm not against newsing the release of Aki's game once it is completed, given his contributions to the site and community. Gotta help a bro out.
I would like to see our Japanese coverage expand, though I'll be honest a lot of the stuff I see Nerds RT and news are light on content and are more "hey look at this stack of Japanese merch photos". Japanese exclusive games and anime are more meaty and interesting.
Also, ROJM, here's your Kudos:

Thank you oh fearless SEGABITS leader!

I actually appreciate trivial news like this, as an avid Kotaku viewer, it's weird articles like these that have me coming back to their site. I didn't even know a fan made Sonic game had been made, and now thanks to Barry, i do now.

If you're looking for more Japanese SEGA News I encourage you to check out our partner site, Segalization. They post all kinds of Japanese SEGA News that SEGAbits doesn't.

I hate Kotaku.

I hate Kotaku.
Biggest reason i go on there is to see game/electronic deals.

I hate Kotaku! You are defeated but you have no shame. You are stubborn but you have no pride. You endure but you have no courage.

I check both sites on a regular basis and I appreciate the work that is put behind both.
See, we haven't got any German SEGA news sites left in Germany.

I didn't meant to criticize you on going there, not in the slightest.
It's just that even since Patricia started spewing out bullshit that site has gone from "bad but some interesting articles and reviews" to "damn, this game I love sure is sexist and the source of all evil"
-
No worries, i didn't take it as criticism. I agree though, they cover Gamergate to the full extent and it's quite annoying.
