POST TRUE STORIES ONLY.
MADE UP STUFF IS BANNABLE
(I imagine, I mean, I'm not a mod or anything so whatever)
"If you plug a second controller into Dick Tracy on Mega Drive, you can play as the kid selling newspapers. He shoots a pea-shooter instead of a pistol and throws cherry-bombs instead of using a Tommy Gun"
"Jet Set Radio? Oh that shitty Tony Hawk rip-off on Dreamcast?"
"So I bought an Xbox the other day, it came with some game called Jet Set Radio Future..."
"Oh yeah that game is great!"
"It's fucking SHIT! I'm going to trade it in for State of Emergency"
"Yeah my dad bought Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter for Mega Drive while he was in America. It's really good."
"Ha! Why would you buy Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter IV AND Marvel Vs Capcom 3? They are all basically the exact same game!"
"Not really, they are hugely different actually"
"No, you have two characters, two life-bars, and you fight! That's it!"
"Well, why do you buy FIFA every year at launch?"
"That's different, you get updated rosters and new players etc"
"But by your logic, NBA, FIFA, NHL are all the same game"
"No..."
"Yeah, you have two teams, two nets and whoever gets a ball or puck into the net the most times wins. Exact same game!"
"... Piss off!"
"Have you played God of War?"
"Not really"
"It's a really great action game" *goes on about stuff you can do in it
"Oh, have you played Bayonetta?"
"Oh that... weird japanese anime thing. Yeah that was stupid."
*Same guy months later*
"Dark Souls? That weird Japanese anime game?"
"What's anime about it?"
"You know, it's... well it's Japanese..."

Gamestop this September:
Me: "I would like to cancel my pre-order for the Destiney PS4 bundle."
Employee: "Sure, may I ask why?"
Me: "Well, Destiney isn't my type of game, I really just wanted the special edition PS4 and I can wait for games I want to play before paying for it."
Employee: "What are you talking about? I got a PS4 and there are plenty of games coming out that you will want to check out."
Me: "Hum, like?"
Employee: "Tekken 7 looks great."
Me: "Yeah, going to have to cancel that."

Guy at GamesMens/Games Wizards (Can't remember which) when my Dad and I asked about the upcoming Sega Saturn:
"Oh yeah if you own a Mega Drive that's good, because see that cartridge slot on the Saturn? You can play your Mega Drive games on it as well"

Remember the former forum member who thought that it was completely possible to do this, you just needed to rewire a few things.

circa 98: "so did you know, they have a white Saturn in Japan that plays high-def games, including a new Sonic!" (it was obviously a DC, looking back)
"If you put your PSX on it's side, it'll play PS2 games"
"There's this secret menu on Sonic 1 which allows you to save game" (ok, this was me when I was 6)
"The Saturn is not our future!"

In Kindergarten this kid said: "My brother has a Game & Watch where every level the game adds a screen to the top. You play until it's 10 screens high."
I asked him to bring it in, and he kept saying his brother wouldn't let him.
-
My cousin: "Mortal Kombat is like a gory version of Street Fighter. The action is so real that some people have died just looking at all the blood."
Got the game, didn't even play it the first day because I didn't want to die.

Para-phrased from another forum:
"Nintendo invented platformers and 'home gaming' with Mario"
"What about Pitfall? Or Adventure?"
"Oh, I wasn't aware of that game. Doesn't count because it didn't have scrolling graphics. Before Mario, there was only single screen games"
"What about Defender?"
"Oh, I wasn't aware of that game. Doesn't count because before Mario games were only about getting a high score in the arcades. There was nothing else like it at the time"
"What about Manic Miner? Jump Buggy? Pac Man Land?"
"No, they don't count, it's something... different."

Some dude on NeoGAF about 'how to save Sonic':
I'm not sure how you can. He was pretty two dimensional when he was first launched, with the focus on being xtreme or street or cool or whatever the fuck the term was in those days. And running fast. Thats it.
In today's world of 3D games I don't know how you do that meaningfully. I personally hate most of his sidekicks, and think only Sonic, Eggman and the chaos have any character at all.
The graphical style of the original games is something you could probably keep too.
Other than that, I think maybe you could try something like Mario 3D world but with a sonic twist. Less emphasis on speed - it hasn't worked recently and I don't see it working. Just let him be a normal character along with bounce pads and boost pads etc for the odd dash of speed.
Don't try and hark back to sonics 1-3 with lots of fast running in a 3D world though, just doesn't work

Some dude on Marvel Puzzle Quest's Facebook Page :
"This game is better than sex. Like, I've never actually had the sex but I've seen it on TV. I'd rather play this game than see a gross naked person. Just quit whining and learn how to play properly."
