I'm talking about games or franchises you come back to time and again and have clocked up ridiculous hours in.
This doesn't necessarily mean your 'Favourite' Sega games, but the one you've spent the most time playing, and possibly see yourself coming back to indefinitely.
For me it's got to be Virtua Fighter. I've been playing the series since VF2. When I bought the console my parents said I could get one game, I didn't know whether to get VF2 or Sonic 3D. I went with VF2 since even the 8 year old me could tell that Sonic 3D looked like a cheap cash-in.
Best choice I made on that system, VF must have easily been my most played game. I was mostly playing single player, but even just learning every characters movesets was so much fun. It was the game I'd play against friends each time they came over as well, and I just fell in love with it.
I remember Fighters Megamix came out, and I expected that it would finally dethrone VF2. I played it for an awful long time, but eventually I went back to VF2 just for 'old times sake' and couldn't believe how much tighter VF2 played in comparison and how much nicer the game looked and sounded. I was right back on the VF2 train. Not to mention interspersed with this, I was playing VF Kids for yucks as well.
It was similar story with VF3, even though it was a crappy port on Dreamcast.
Most recently it's been Final Showdown. This is the first time I played VF at tournaments (Even though I'm not a top player my any means, I've now played this game across a lot of tournaments in three different countries). Playing in tournaments just opened up a whole new world of Virtua Fighter. It revealed just how marvellous this game is (not that I wasn't already impressed) and I realised I could play this game for the rest of my life and not get bored with it, so long as I had people to play against. I can't even hazard a guess at how many hours I've poured into VF5:FS across meetups, tournaments, online matches and training mode etc.
So what is it for you guys? Are you a fiend for Sonic the Hedgehog? have you rolled into four digits for 'hours played' in the Total War series? Have you 100%'d every Yakuza game, twice?

Jet Set Radio and JSRF for sure, I've returned to these games time and time again and just goofed around and explored for hours. I believe I have two 40 hour save files for JSRF, plus one I deleted that had another 20-30.
Same goes for the first Sonic Adventure. I'd just boot the game up and run around the adventure fields, exploring and playing action stages.

Phantasy Star Online hands down. Good christ so many hours.
-
Classic wise? Sonic The Hedgehog.
Modern? Total war. Conquering never gets old, until the population frequently rebels...then of course I just slaughter the town.
-
Phantasy Star Online and Skies of Arcadia easily.
-
Sonic 2 no doubt, played it endlessly as a kid and still play it till this day.
-
Not Favourite but the most time playing ?
I think it's Mario & Sonic at Olympic Game series (Wii, NDS, 3DS)
because sometimes I only got half an hour or less to play and those minigames in theirs suit those short times needed.

I Salute you my general XD

I put an unthinkable amount of time into PSO, unthinkable... And Skies of Arcadia too.
I think I will always return to Sonic games so long as they can at least SOMETIMES get the formula right and make a good game.
I've played Total War since before Sega even owned them and I cannot tell you how much time I have spent just with a single game in the series.
I also load up either Sonic 2, Shinobi 3, Fantasy Zone, Galaxy Force 2 and Comix Zone on my computer any spare moment I have. I just find them instantly gratifying and easy to enjoy even for a few minutes.
