Post by: Sharky on May 21, 2010, 03:04:52 pm
Found these knocking around the deepest darkest regions of my room that i never enter...

This is a Vday card, un-used of course... Nobody was good enough for my Sonic card.... nobody!

Promotional book, there are more pages in the book mostly just pictures of models pretending to enjoy dreamcast games and a couple of previews but as i dont have a scanner I just took the most interesting ones.

I really like the adverts they made to promote the Dreamcast in Europe. I recall seeing a picture somewhere on the internet depicting a massive outdoor advert with the phrase "Playstation: best before 14/10/99" (or was it 09/09/99?) using that very style. I'm not sure if it was a fake. I do remember smiling though!

I'm kind of lazy-assed right now, but if you want I can scan the works of advertising brilliance that were the Sega of America DC ads from the Next Gen mag I found and then everyone can plainly see how laughably out of touch the marketing was when PS2 and Sony were redefining cool.

SoA marketing department shutdown in favor of SoE is 10 years too late.

Hehe, at least they did the whole 09/09/99 launch right. It's still remembered to this day.
