Let's speculate:
* One Half of a Faction is playable - all others are $4.99 DLC and pre-order bonuses
* Blood is DLC for $1.99
* Campaign map is actually still Europe
* Enemy factions will only build Spear Levies and Slingers
* One year, 16 patches and four DLC bundles later it will be better.
I'm just kidding (not really), but seriously this could be really good. Don't know much about warhammer, but it looks like it would be a fun setting for Total War.
I would like to see them grant more abilities to generals like magic and shit. Hopefully they bring back things like family trees, vice and virtues and the like to give the generals more personality than Rome 2.

I don't know why people keep saying LEAKED about it when SEGA announced they obtained the Warhammer license towards the end of 2013.
I got excited that we might actually see some screenshots! Guess it's not far off though.
-
^Well they got the license, but they didn't announce a game, and still haven't 'officially' announced it - so technically I guess it's a leak?
They could have gotten the license and made Warhammer: Isolation, where you play as an Elf evading a scary Lizardman. Or Warhammer: Stormrise if they had a death-wish.

Can we all agree to abbreviate this as War:War?

Total War:Hammer

Game should simply be called 'Total Warhammer' done. Anyway I have been waiting for a trailer for this for SO fucking long now! I wish they would just give us something already, Jesus.
-
I get the feeling they'll hold off on anything until after Attila is out, sadly.
-
Filthy Chaos pessimists....I look forward to slaying you on the field of battle for the glory of man.
-
I hope Skaven and Lizard men are a playable race... I've always liked the more non-traditional high fantasy stuff. Elves and Men and Orcs are played out... Rat people and Lizard men? Sign me up!

I don't know much about Warhammer at all, but from what I've been reading as overviews the Skaven are underground right? That could be interesting gameplay. Have an underworld map where Skaven can traverse the map unseen and then pop up unexpectedly.
The Empire sounds cool in general, late era Holy Roman Empire based units would be fun.

What I know about Warhammer I've learned through friends who are really into the table top and models. Plus the various videogames I've played through the years. Never was into the table top RPGs or anything but my friends used to ask me to paint their models which I enjoyed doing... So much cool detail on the models! I liked putting my own ideas in like blood spray, rust and exposed metal under paint and dirt etc. Weirdly rewarding even though I didn't play.
Skaven are an underground race as you say, and are widely thought of by most above ground races as a myth or legend as they are so rarely seen by commoners. They are into disease and chemical warfare and worship 'the horned rat.' like a devil creature. I always like the more exotic races in fantasy.
-
^Man some of to models I've seen were incredible. I used to work with a couple of guys who painted them, and some were very detailed and impressive. When I left that job one guy gave me a couple of space marines to keep as a memento.
I do think it's a very cool mix of factions. I like the idea of Aztec Lizardmen.

On one hand its not based in the 40k universe and in the other hand we don't get too much OG Warhammer universe games. So, I'm conflicted.
-
Interesting collaboration there, SEGA. Not that I'm into either one of these, just think that this idea is pretty clever, especially w/SEGA having both of these licenses.

I don't know if 40k would work for Total War would it? Too much ranged and ship warfare from my understanding.
