There has never been a better time for a stand alone Chao Garden game! I never understood why they never did this in the past when Chao were so popular. It seemed to make so much sense to me that I half expected it to happen and when it never did I was like... Why?
Personally I enjoyed the Chao but never went crazy over them, many of my friends however bought Sonic Adventure 2 JUST for the Chao raising, they were like a step up from Tamagochi virtual pet things that were all the craze in the 90's.
Now that free to play mobile/tablet games have taken off and proven their earning power it seems like now is the time more than ever perhaps to bring the Chao back. A free to play chao game where you can level it up, teach it, collect items, play games... Of course appearances for Sonic and co for that extra brand recognition... Shit could be raking in money like nobodies biz!
Common SEGA.

I agree since I like playing Chao Garden on GBA.
I know it's just a mini game from Sonic Pinball Party, but it had potential.
But may be, it's kinda late to release it right now.

^ basically.
Who cares about Chaos right now, I play Sonic games to play as Sanic, not a pet simulator.
-
But it wouldn't be a Sonic game, it would be its own thing. And if you didn't want to play it, don't! But I bet pet simulators do really well on mobile devices and I reckon there are still tons of people who'd still be up for a Chao raising game. I still have friends that ask me if there is a Chao garden in the next Sonic game.

Yeah, they need to bring back the Chao. Either a stand alone free mobile game or in an actual Sonic game. Chao need to make a return!

Well they are in Sonic Runners.

It's the sort of thing that's suited perfectly to the freemium mobile games that Sega loves nowadays. Granted, Chaos are kind of out of the public eye now, but you could attach Sonic/Tails as 'advisors' or narrators to get the punters in.
I don't know how virtual pets do online, but I think I remember friends playing a bunch of zoo keeper and dragon raising games on their phones. Easy to monetize these kinds of games too. Sad, but that's what Sega is all about nowadays.

I'd like to play a chaos garden portable game...
I played some time as a hobby in the gameboy, but I believe a solo game could have more quality.

If they ever release another game with Chao Gardens, I would have a serious problem. I had a few months of straight-up addiction to Sonic Adventure 2's Garden/Races/Sumo. It was not pretty.
Regardless, SEGA please make more Chao Gardens... :'(

I never got to make a Perfect Chao ;_;

I just downloaded a perfect one from the Daycare. Was an online function where you could trade them with others. Man the DC was ahead of its time...

And the black market you could buy shiny eggs from... good times
