Post by: Sharky on March 09, 2015, 08:27:08 pm
Info (in Japanese, copy paste this link into the URL for it to work)
http://www.famitsu.com/news/201503/10073583.html

Official site:

This may well be Imageepochs final game, it's a grid based SRPG kind of looks like Shining Force 3.

Ah, wasn't when I began typing it! I always check the front page before I come to the forum.

That project Miri DX thing isn't on their yet tho.

I didn't do it because no one likes that game here; i'm going to be honest I'm lazy.

If there was a really streamlined, easy way to update the front page I'd still do it. And wordpress always seems to fuck up for me.

I'll post it now, if you want to know how to post just PM me and I can send you a neat walkthrough (it isn't that hard, we updated now so you don't have to embed youtube videos, just drop the url).

Good guy SEGA. Last year they helped Atlus, now they helped Imageepoch.

No where in the Famitsu article did it say they aren't in a good place. That seems to come from a NeoGAF poster. Though I wouldn't doubt its true. I said as much on the front page.

It stands to reason that Famitsu doesn't do that, IMO

Anything perceivably negative will be said under the safest of circumstances

The thing is, no one has said anything, just NeoGAF speculation and that isn't news. Its like those 'Sega leaving the console' business rumors that got started when nothing pointed to it. Could it have been true? Maybe, is it true? Well, they are publishing this game, aren't they?

Looks pretty cool. Its sad SEGA hasnt had many successes on the 3ds. Seems like a pretty healthy platform for a company that wants to stop investing bloated budgets into games. Hope this does well!

Is it supposed to be news? He specified them as rumors. It's not without base. Imageepoch's titles on average don't perform well. This NeoGAF topic (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=993596), namely this duckroll post (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=152423888&postcount=104), can offer a little more as a crash course. The gradient of NeoGAF speculation covers a wide spectrum.

I'd also argue the two situations you're comparing here are way different, but that's not super related here

Okay, yes please.
Youtube videos were always my problem, they would resize.

Game sounds interesting, too bad I don't have a 3DS or I'd look into it.

Is this getting a Western release?

I just thought, this is the sort of game I'd like to see on mobile. Turn Based RPGs woudl work quite easily on touch-screens I would think.

Nope.
Now it is, Atlus just confirmed that they're localizing it https://twitter.com/JohnLHardin/status/582972786592915456

TimmiT, you got a Kudo for that.  Lately Strategy RPG's are my favorite.  I just finished Crystal Warriors (Game Gear, for 3DS), and I'm getting a modded Action Replay to play the fan translations of Scenario 2 and 3 of Shining Force 3.  Also I just started Disgaea on the VITA (PSP).

Segatlus is gonna be a real thing. I mean, now the two localizing studios are in the same city, so....

Please do start a thread when you start playing through these games! I did this a few years ago (but via Emulator instead), still one of my favourite gaming experiences of all time, finally being able to play the full experience of one of my favourite games.

If anything could be possible, I don't mind too much if SS put the SoA Team "in the same building" as Atlus USA, just sayin'...

Atlus has been pretty active bringing niche Japanese games to the US. They've also been teasing an English release of the Attack on Titan 3DS game, which will seemingly be announced tomorrow on Nintendo Direct: https://twitter.com/JohnLHardin/status/582975595505696769

I'd say Phantasy Star Nova and Phantasy Star Online 2

7th Dragon Compilation Game would be dope.

I'd say Phantasy Star Nova and Phantasy Star Online 2
Phantasy Star Online 2 would be very unlikely for Atlus due to having to handle servers and all updates as well. It'd be a lot more work than their usual localization. Phantasy Star Nova is possible though.

I wouldn't get your hopes up about this meaning more SEGA localization. It's more than likely a one off because Atlus feels it has selling power in the West and nothing to do with SEGA being Japanese publisher.

Since Atlus being owned by Sega? Yes.
But before ATLUS helped the localization of SEGA's Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon (GBA), Shining Soul I (GBA), Shining Soul II (GBA), Puyo Puyo Fever (NDS) and Shiren The Wanderer (Wii).

Played the demo in the eshop. I liked it. You can tell it's quality. Like a cutesy fire emblem.

Thank you for the heads up on the discount. Played the (lengthy) demo. It seems pretty good. 40 dollars is a lot of money to spend though.. but considering it's normally 50.. decisions decisions.

Gives me Shining Force 3 vibes... Which is awesome. But no 3DS, shame.
