The right amount of time has passed... It's time! Give me more!
How well did Transformed do overall? Was it considered a success? It's up there with the best kart racers of all time. It would suck big time if SEGA dropped it now... Like they tend to do with everything good.

I'm not sure how it did but it's become clear from Sumo that there is currently no sequel cooking atm. Maybe they're waiting for SoA's restructure to be completed? Maybe they're waiting for ST to figure out what the fuck Sonic is going to be for the next couple years?
All that aside, what would you like to see in the next game besides more stages and characters? I'd like them to streamline the gameplay and level design a bit. I thought the transformation gimmick, while fun was overly complex and a little inaccessible for normal people. Boating especially was unfun. I'd also like to see track designs that were more intuitive and less cluttered. I often would end up completely lost during some of the more open levels. My friends in particular would get extremely frustrated when they came over to play. "git gud" is not something you want to say to someone that's over at your house to have a good time.
Other than that, a PSO stage and a Rappy racer. K thx.

-I would like more interesting track layouts, the aesthetic is awesome, the backgrounds and props and such are too cool but the track itself needs more... Twists and turns and loopy tracks, I want to drive down mountainsides and do huge jumps... When in the boat I always wanted some giant Tsunami wave to show up and have to power up it then zoom back down the other side. Just get more crazy, basically!
-A battle arena mode that doesn't feel like an after thought!
-SEGA themed weapons!
-
I think they should give the game a story mode for characters that sorta explains what the character is about and their history. I think one of the biggest complaints from non-SEGA fans about the game is how they don't have personality or know who they are. If they had a mode that would give them more information people wouldn't feel that way. It worked for Smash Bros Brawl.

You and me Sharky, Transformed is one of the best racers I've ever played, and easily the best "Kart" game ever.
The only thing I'd want from a sequel would be more polish... Lack of polish is pretty much my only gripe with Transformed, the physics can get wonky especially in the water parts, or after jumping. And there are bugs and roughness scattered here and there.
And I'd like better character animations, the ones in transformed felt like creepy lifeless dolls (Where's that Gum pic when you need it?)
EDIT: There it is! (Not for the faint hearted) (http://i.imgur.com/7wExI.jpg)

Please put cel-shading on the Jet Set Radio characters and never take it off. Beat and Gum in Transformed looked terrifying and awkward, and it's mainly because they tried to make them look like real people. Beat's Future design in the original All-Stars racing stuck to the original design enough to avert this, so just do that, but with the original designs. Also a personal request a fan of the series: put in a character with their original design and a character with their Future design, instead of the reps being one or the other (I realize there IS some Future rep in Transformed, but I want something that's not a cameo or stage).
I also second the story-mode idea George had. I think Superstars Tennis had a story written, but they threw it out. The Transformed comic had a self-contained story, but it was kind of meh. Make it so these characters actually interact with each other, even if it's not voiced or cinematic. I wanna know how someone like Joe Musashi would interact with Dr. Eggman. There's some potential for good humor here.
Also bring back every character having a unique all-star move instead of Tranformed where every other all-star move was a reskin of another.

this, 100 times this. The character animation in Transformed was embarrassing. Get marza on that shit, STAT.

There was a few things they screwed up on:
1. Driving feel. Just doesn't feel as polished as Mario Kart games. Not that it should feel the same, but you can tell when something feels more polished for sure.
2. Fix the water controls, I dunno how many times I screwed up a race cuz I landed on a wave and it just totally screwed me up. It shouldn't be 'chance' that you will get screwed up when entering the water or water driving.
3. Add something to make flights more entertaining. They just felt a bit plane.

4. Animation needs to improve.
5. Don't force each franchise to have the same look (like people said, Jet Set Radio) just because you want everything to be 'the same', if you wanted everything to be 'the same artsyle' you should have stuck with Sonic only. Embrace the uniqueness of each SEGA franchise. Thats like celebrating everyones culture and but everyone has to be white (obviously not as extreme as that).
6. DLC thats fairly price and distributed more fairly. See: PC has most free DLC. SEGA should team up with each manufacture and make DLC exclusive. For example: PC + Steam = free HL character. Nintendo = Free Mario or something DLC, PS4 = free Jak and Daxter, Xbone = Free Battletoads (or Banjo ;0 ) DLC.
7. Come up with multiplayer mini-games outside of racing (See balloon battle in OG Mario Kart).
8. Power-ups should be more unique to SEGA's history.
I can go ahead and add more franchises should be included (even if its cameos in stages) but as SEGA fans we will never have enough SEGA references ever...

I gotta disagree with story mode... I usually hate when they try to explain cross overs... There's just no good way to explain Ryo and Sonic in the same universe, just don't try.
-
Loved transformed to bits. World tour mode was brilliant. I think I completed that 100% on 4 different platforms. A solid foundation to build upon so I hope they make another one as well.
There was a huge flaw in the game when you started playing it competitively online tho. The balance between mods was very off and some characters useless because of it. Would like them to focus on balance if they ever made a new one
-
- don't make those traffic challenges so impossibly hard this time. Jesus christ.

Not really revolved around why its a cross over but more like a day in the life of x character joining a race. Just to get what Beat, the GG's and the game's are all about. You gotta understand, if you want a new generation of kids to understand what makes these IP characters great, you have to give a bit more than randomly throwing the character in a kart and assume everyone knows the character.
After Brawl was a huge hit demand for franchises rose, Fire Emblem Awakening broke the series' sell records with 2 million units.

Yeah doesn't have to be an explanation, just an injection of their personality, could make people interested in said character.
-
Hmm I suppose, so long as its not super cereal u guys.

Transformed took like 3 years to make if I remember right. Lets say if they started last year, then maybe in 2017 there could be a chance.

take this with a grain of salt since its tssz but it seems like as of May 2015 no sequel is in the works.

I'm not hopefully, I think Sonic Boom has taken precedence over this.
Call me a cynic but SEGA doesn't roll (Pun absolutely intended) with multiple Sonic spinoffs (YES MORE PUNS) at once. We'll get another Sonic title in 2017 no doubt but if Sonic Boom continues to be successful I feel SEGA West would just stick with that franchise.

Like I needed another reason to hate Sonic Boom...

I'd definitely purachase a sequel to this franchise.

I think you're on the money with this one. Sega's current strategy has no place for a game that celebrates their history as a developer of great/games.
-
We don't know that, I don't really think Boom has anything to do with All-Stars game. Sanzaru Games doesn't develop those games, SEGA America wasn't the ones managing the project. It was a SEGA of Europe game.
That would be like pretending the reason there is no Shenmue 3 from SEGA was because they funded Alpha Protocol.

I definitely agree with that. In fact, stories in racing games generally don't work. Look what the story did to F-Zero GX. For me, the story mode ruined the game despite the racing action and mechanics being so fantastic.
I'd like them to tone down the difficulty of a sequel. I like challenging games, but there's a big difference between making a game challenging and frustrating and on some of the harder difficulties in Transformed, the game was overly frustrating. This was compounded by players needing to complete the harder difficulties to unlock everything.
The flight and boat mechanics need tweaking as they definitely weren't as fun as the road sections.

I have pretty much no interest in another Sonic Kart Racer, but wouldn't be opposed to seeing them try again. I still want a Racers Megamix more than anything, basically an arcade racer in the vein of Daytona or Sega Rally, but with tracks and cars from all their games.
It'll never happen in a million billion years, so Mario Kart it is. Maybe they can win me over with their next attempt.
-
I'd like more racing games from SEGA period. The Sumo stuff especially has been a lot of fun.

That would have made a rad original Xbox game, but SEGA eventually decided to chase licenses and try to be EA. Their initial stab at being a 3rd party was probably the last breath that could have delivered that dream game.
