My feelings exactly :D.
They updated the SEGA Europe blog post. Looks like the hostess sections are back in.

Quick Edit! Hi guys, lots of comments so far – judging from them a fair few regarding the Y3 situation, which is fair enough. Whilst I don’t know all the ins and outs of the game at this stage I can at least confirm to you that the much loved Hostesses will return in Yakuza 4 in all their alluring glory.

Great fucking news.

I heard there would be SOMETHING cool announced today, I didn't dream it would be this cool. Was expecting it would be a trailer for Sonic Colours or Sonic Adventure officially announced for XBLA/PSN.

My favourite part is that they aren't leaving us hanging on this one as far as the whole "will they, or won't they translate" issue like they did with 2 and 3.

Hopefully they stick with the Japanese box art for the most part :)

Rikiya reaked of 'still in the closet' there were a number of times his sexuality was questionable and that cannon.

Kazuma on the other hand is clearly a straight guy.

I liked Rikiya...

And fuck the hostess bar!! Fuck Sega and Nagoshi with it! I hate that part! Those bitchs only want my money! Most of them are ugly! All of them are futile!

If the people wants to play that shit, Sega should make a "Let's Make a Cabaret Club Bar" and sell it alone.

I want to punch and kick people on the streets, not talking with bitchs on a bar.

Though, I can't say that I disagree with you. As far as I can tell, the series would surely be better off without them. =P

No, it means you are a seriously weird fuck who likes to think about everything in a sexual manner.

I am not sure how it could not get more obvious for Kazuma being straight. Every game in the series has jokes about how he finds homosexuality disgusting.

Except the real city the whole series is based on is known specifically for their hostess bars above all else. It makes no sense to remove them, but it is not like they can in 4, as Akiyama (guy in the burgundy jacket) owns one and that it is a major part of his story.

I am certain you two do not know how they play. In the first game you could only go to visit them and trade gifts, and I agree that this is fucking awful, but in all of the others you can actually run a store of your own, and it is done really fantastically. You can handpick the designs of what you want for carpets, walls, lighting, plants, anything! In 3 originally and up you can also tell your hostesses how to dress and act around their customers, and you have to potentially protect them from perverts and stuff too by beating them up. I can understand people hating the other part, but never this.

I'm not sure about your own level of emotional maturity, but as far as I'm concerned, talking about love does not equate to talking about sex. I did not mention sex a single time in my posts. It is you who brought that up.

For some reason, it would seem that your own mind filled in the blanks and fantasized about the dirtier details, even though I never mentioned them. :P I was only talking about them living peacefully and happily together on the shores of Okinawa.

So? Hostess bars were mentioned quite a bit in the US version of Yakuza 3, but we still managed to avoid going to them. We can establish that a character owns a hostess bar without having to step inside.

No, he actually runs them and funds them, finding new workers for it involves part of the story. Again, I am not sure why you would want this removed.

Fuzzy, it doesn’t have to be sexual to be very predictable. People are getting really tired of it, me included. Theres nothing homophobic about it, but turning every thread into an argument/convo regarding your sexuality (or the sexuality of others) Is boring and disruptive to threads.

Now, on topic... I like the idea of having optional jobs, I always wished Shenmue had more optional jobs to make money... Like real jobs not gambeling. I like having money in the game but I get really bored of the moving crates mini game in Shenmue 2.

I hope Nagoshi adds a couple more jobs you can take such as
Bar staff, - Mixing drinks mini game
Male host, - Chattin up the ladies... or gays...
Dlivery guy - Maybe running around the city delivering pizzas in a time limit.

Just some simple mini games to make a bit more money.

Well, he won't find new workers inside the hostess clubs themselves, so again, no need to go inside one. They should be dropped.

I disagree, but whatever. Let us drop the discussion. We shouldn't continue to derail the thread like this.

Hehe, that'd be one way to make it interesting.

Otherwise, I don't really like the idea of holding a job in-game. It's still a boring prospect, just as it was in the days of Shenmue.

I'm pretty indifferent to the hostess bars.
I mainly stick to the story missions in the Yakuza games, mostly because it would take an obscene amount of time to try and get everything in the game.

I did enjoy some of the mini games though.  I thought pool, and karaoke were both good times in the 3rd game.

I never enjoyed the hostess bars in Yakuza 2, but I kinda liked the mission where you had to work as a host to uncover that big scam they were running. Even so, the trial and error nature of it started to grind after a while.

Basically, I am not sure why you have to treat everyone like a piece of shit when they do nothing to you.

What are you even talking about? Sharky mentioned the sexualities and I thought it was pathetic as you would talk about it on the last topic on this, and you knew it bugged everyone. I never mentioned it was dirty, only that it was obvious that you were talking about a gay relationship. Considering your history in the site and the whole damn Internet, I do not know why you are trying to make it seem like anything less. Why do you even care this much in that you feel the need to say I am constantly wrong when you never respond to my posts that prove you wrong? It is not even a big deal, just stop making posts designed around specifically annoying people, I guess?

Answer X Answer is a big hit series on the arcades, and yeah, I suck on this game... it's fucking hard!!! ;p

Pachinko is so much better, and Yakuza 4 have 2! Virtua Fighter and another one. You can see some parts of the story of Virtua Fighter on it, like Goh trying to kill some fighters (he is working for J6), Sarah abducted by the J6, various Durals with different colors, etc...

I always thought this was very odd too. Especially when you see all of the posters in the back for their arcade games, Sonic and stuff too.

Like, would it kill them to throw in Puyo Puyo at least?

In Shenmue it made more sense, since it was a period piece set in the 1980s.  Do contemporary Japanese arcades have the old school cabinets in them?

Realism aside, I'd like it too if they had the classics playable in there.

Well it is not just that, but the toys you can get in the UFO Catchers are not even SEGA related. Is it really that hard to make even something like a Chao in there?

Well it is not too big of a deal, just weird to me. I saw that AiAi was in Yakuza 4, so that is something.

Yeah, that was odd, and I can't explain why they have not filled it with Sega titles.

This time they have Aiai and some songs you can hear on the convenience stores, like Nights ending theme, Giant Egg's main theme and some more.

I have not played it properly, so I have no idea if there was more.
