Check this out, the only really active Shenmue part left at SD:

And that was obnoxiously large, so here is the board where all of the magic is happening: http://www.shenmuedojo.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=37 (http://www.shenmuedojo.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=37)
Numerous threads about modding, and awesome hi res pictures. Shenmue III would look so awesome on today's consoles...hear that, SEGA?
-
Thats some pretty cool stuff! Shenmue would be amazing in HD.
P.S I changed the thread title so nobody sees the name and thinks it might be a Shenmue re-release or something.
-
Wow, I never noticed that there were items in the store like "Shenmue Caramels" and a little package with a picture of Shenhua on it.
-
Did you ever play the first one? They could be traded for prizes online, I believe. In the second one, Ryo would automatically trade it for a freakin' capsule toy...waste of money.
But anyways, if you visit the link I posted, they've been modding both games and making everything HD...it's awesome stuff, looks SO good.
-
Is there any way to play this in HD? With NullDC or something?
-
I'm honestly sure what they're planning with it...to my knowledge, nobody has released a Shenmue HD in any form, but with all of this modding, somebody may pick it up and release it on an emulator. It sure is beautiful.

I'm not really sure what to think of this... while it's nice that the textures are hi-res and all... they look out of place compared to AM2's original textures - there is something 'off' about them...
I think playing the game with the original textures in 'HD' would be very nice, just being rendered with the original textures, the smooth edges on the polygon rendering would be more than enough B)

Yeah, Am2 could sure do better, but you have to remember that these are a few average Joe's, not trained, experienced programmers.
-
Programmers do not make textures...
-
Programmers make textures have a purpose.
-
Only on a very small team might you find a programmer working on the visuals. Generally speaking, Texture Artists make textures.
