First of all LOTS of new information here:

A new trailer for the new Valkyria Azures shows what looks like an in-engine cutscene hinting at both gun and swordplay on a large battlefield in this spin off series.

VC Remastered trailer

Watermelon sized boobies and maid cafe outfits be damned.
I'm fucking sold. The ornate gilded designs of the guns truly feels likes the next step in the franchises art style. Here's hoping this delivers!

Wow, seems like their are treating this as an AAA project! The theme song is actually really classy! ;-D

The titty-witch thing seems to be a running theme, after Sylvanias popularity I can understand why they'd do it again. It's silly but Japan ganna Japan. I've never let something like that put me off a game... In fact in Dragons Crown it was hilarious.
Now if there was some mini game where you undress her and touch her up while she coo's naught lines in your ear I'd probably take issue.
"We can’t… it’ll have to wait for tonight.”
*cough* Fire Emblem

Graphics look great, art style looks crappy.

With the recent tease from SEGA's twitter account, I think we're safe in saying it's coming to the west too :)
-
:)) YAY gonna buy 2 copies if that really happens! I hope it's a proper physical release (so I can buy one for myself and one for my videogame buddy) but I'll buy it even if it's digital only...I wonder if the big reveal is gonna be that the demo for Azure revolution is included...and hence the game confirmed to be localised

Can't wait. Admittedly only played a few hours of the Steam release, but I can tell it's quality and want to support fantastic SEGA series. I hope the PS4 release exceeds their expectations the way the Steam release did.

Just managed to watch the trailer for Valkyria Chronicles Azure and it looks great!
I also noticed this under the logo near the end too:
"Here lie the 'circle of five' whose vengeful actions brought forth an inferno of war.
With their execution, the blood of the brave legion is redeemed, and a just peace born. They rest eternally in the land of their birth. By the holy mother."
Soo, I guess that's the story?

Physical release of VC:Remastered confirmed and to be released this spring in the west: http://valkyria.sega.com/
It comes in a nice looking steel book too :)
-
Hope it sells at least as good as the PC port.

It's happening!

As your tweets say, this seems to be like a good year for SEGA. It feels as though the entire company are reading from the same page and are incredibly focused on the job in hand.
I really hope it pays off for them.

As I tweeted, I think the whole four pillars thing is no more. SEGA has hardly promoted Total War and Football Manager in America, Aliens has been silent since Isolation, and Sonic has been silent outside of Boom.
Meanwhile, SEGA of America (and SEGA Europe to an extent) is pushing Yakuza 5, Yakuza 0, SEGA 3D Classics Collection and now Valkyria Chronicles Remastered - all physical aside from Yakuza 5. Now stuff like Yakzua 6 and Azure Revolution don't sound so impossible.
-
Along side all those great games, we also have SoE surprising us with PC ports. I like how they're pushing them too. They announce them and they're released shortly afterwards. It's rare that happens in games now.

Still worried that the SEGA 3D Classic Collection won't come to Europe. :(
I played Power Drift at an Expo last year and I really loved the 3D effects!!!! So I hope I can get it.
Same for Fantasy Zone II DX (which has been recreated on 3DS), I wanna try it as well.
Edit: Forgot to comment on the topic at hand.
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Bring on the Gallia!

Seems as though this remaster is coming to Europe, but not a boxed version.

The only issue here, and a pretty big one at that, is that Sega is having the impression that the fanbase is willing to buy this game not once, not twice but three times already.
With the PC port selling half a mil, counting the original version, I'm not seeing the original fanbase willing to dip a third time for the game, especially when the PC port is everything this remaster is.

While it's true that this will be identical to the PC remaster, many of us don't have gaming PCs. With that in mind, the allure of 60 fps and the notion of supporting the effort to include a wider audience with their Valkyria initiative is more than enough for a fan like me to double dip. If this were just on its own, I might be more inclined to agree with you but this is clearly them gauging western interest for the upcoming sequel. The stakes are high bro, nows not the time for cold feet!
On a separate note, so pleased am I with this past month's of Sega news that I think they should craft a new intro logo for their trailers and what not. Maybe to emphasize that this is in fact a new leaf being turned.

An interesting thought... I'm not opposed to it, but I must say I like the current one because I think it looks like an updated version of the intro logo from the Sega Master System BIOS.

I doubt they're going to rebrand the intro but if they did I wouldn't mind going back to the clear white screen with the logo ontop. That being said this video they made was suppose to signal the new direction.

Which they posted in July and then reuploaded it again in December.
One more bump on the road for sure but they'll be a good period coming out. Wither it ends in failure like the period between 2008 - 2012 we'll see.

Oh, I'm gonna get it, no doubt about that, just to show interest. I'm just predicting that most other people won't, even hardcore fans of the series. Sega is spreading itself thin with another semi-identical version of the same game in another platform in such a short amount of time. I hope they're not putting all of their eggs in one basked and gauge sales numbers to decide something.
Anyway, they better announce the demo for that new game because they'd be dumb as fucking hell not to include it.
-
I've been beat to the sentiment, but yeah I already really like how 2016 is shaping up for SEGA. Maybe I'm just keen to be optimistic, but lately it does feel like they've gotten it. I don't think everyone's wildest dreams are going to start coming true immediately, but I'm already pretty pleased.
