Dogs.
Cats never care whether you're there or not, Dogs welcomed you happily when you're coming home.
Cats stole food from your table, Dogs almost never do that.
Dogs think you're their god, cats think you're their servant.
-
Berto, those are just stereotypes.
I've had plenty of cats, none steals food at the table and all of them greeted me when I got home.

Not stereotypes, I actually have both cats and dogs before I was married, so that was from my experience.
Your experience may differ of course, but as for me if my cats greeted when I'm home I'd think it's because they're hungry.
But of course it's not all that bad with cats. They're a great predator.
One day a snake came into my house and my cat jump in and then chase and kill him right away.
And tips from my experience, if you want to have both cats and dogs, always have the cats first.
The dogs will treat them as friend. But if you have dogs first then cats, it's kinda hard to make them got along.

Oh my. maybe it's because they are bored and see my arrival as something to do..? I never had more than one cat at one time

I've always loved dogs.
I like cats, but I don't like them as pets.

My cat loves us, she always has to be in the same room hanging out and will often talk to us (not english, but in cat) and will meow across the house asking where we are. She also does greet us even when not hungry. The whole "cats don't care about you and you are their servant" thing is a nasty stereotype.

I do like cats, but unless I know it was an indoor one, I don't think I could have one as a pet.
