Michael Jackson, one of the most widely beloved entertainers and the most popular global icons of all time, leaves an indelible imprint on popular music and culture. During his extraordinary career Jackson sold an estimated 750 million records worldwide, released 13 No.1 singles and became one of a handful of artists to be inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He won 13 Grammy Awards and received the American Music Award's Artist of the Century Award. His album "Thriller" is the world's best-selling album of all time with more than 110 million copies sold.

I do not think he would be too upset. A lot of the money from his estate is going to go to his children.
Besides, it is not like MJ was the most moral of people around to begin with. Not saying he was a bad guy at all or anything, but... Well you know what I mean.

I imagine it looking as smooth as Just Dance, so in my mind it looks pretty awesome right now. Won't start the hype machine until I actually see how it works though.
I've never tried a dancing game before. But I do like that kind of stuff..

Just dance is really innacurate, it's like watching a flash animation music video student project. It doesn't really matter if you hold the wii remote.

Kinect seemed to pull off dancing well, and I could see something like Dance Central translating well to a MJ game. If this turns out to be good, I just may get it. Fuck Beatles Rock Band, dancing with MJ is where it's at.

Michael Jackson was the greatest performance artist of all time. Was a fan back then, still a fan now. So glad to know that he was one of us, a Sega fan through and through. But hey, real recognizes real right?
What isn't comforting though, was his downfall, not because any of the allegations were true (they definitely were not), but because us the public were complicit in believing that they might be true and thus caused his downfall. The world is definitely a darker place now that he's gone.
The man was a once in a lifetime talent. With a genuine message of making the world a better place. Even as big as he was, he was still underappreciated.

That game had it all; a Michael Jackson soundtrack, scrolling beat-em-up action and some great boss fights, not least of which was the legendary Stray Dogs.
The very first thing I did when fighting these dogs was test out the "dance them to death" move to see if it would work, needless to say, it does.
Yes, it seems that neither man nor beast can resist the musical styling’s of Michael Jackson, and each and every mongrel would jump on their hind-legs and start jamming to ‘Beat it’, then be sent flying off screen as Michael Jackson proved too much for them.

In 1990, Sega published a video game based on Michael Jackson’s movie Moonwalker, which started Jackson’s relationship with Sega.
It was around this time that the first Sonic game came out, and Jackson expressed to people at Sega how much he liked the game.
When SEGA developed NA version of Mega Drive (called Genesis), they gave Michael Jackson one before it's released, making him the first person in the U.S. to own a SEGA Genesis
In 1993, while in Los Angeles on his “Dangerous” world tour, Jackson was invited to visit Sega Technical Institute, where Sonic 3 was being developed.
While he was there, one of the developers asked him if he’d like to write some music for the game, he said yes, and the rest is history.
In the middle of production of Space Channel 5, in 1998 or 1999, SEGA got a call from Michael saying that he wanted to act in Space Channel 5.
Michael then makes a cameo appearance in Space Channel 5 near the end of the game as Space Michael.
He then had a more prominent role in Space Channel 5: Part 2 where he became the new head of Space Channel 5.

Bruce Swedien was 86 years old when he died Monday.
His daughter, Roberta Swedien, announced his death on Facebook, saying that her father "passed away peacefully."

After decades of speculation, Sonic the Hedgehog co-creator Yuji Naka casually confirms that Michael Jackson did indeed compose music for Sonic 3.
Some speculation suggested that Jackson's tracks went unused in the final game, but Naka's statements seemingly finally confirm that the late musician's work did make it into the original release of the game.
It is unknown why Jackson was previously uncredited for the compositions.

Digitised master footage of Michael Jackson in Scramble Training, a 1993 interactive ridefilm for the AS-1 motion ride simulator developed by Sega.
Thought to be lost even by Sega personnel themselves, the above footage - all localised segments made by writer/director Hiroshi Uemura and Kenji Sasaki, as well as filmed scenes of Jackson - was recently found on a D2 master tape sold at a car boot sale in the United Kingdom, and kindly digitised by the Oxford Duplication Centre after an appeal on Facebook was answered by Mechafatnick .

If some twat purchased it they'd probably keep it to themselves of ruined it. Instead it was found by someone compassionate enough to restore it digitally and put it on YouTube for all us to see!

In 1988, Michael Jackson contacted Sega about developing a video game that would capture his persona.
Sega and Jackson then began working on an arcade video game based on his Moonwalker film and "Smooth Criminal" music video released that year.
A prototype unit was demonstrated at Mexico's American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA) exhibition in early July 1990.
Jackson assisted Sega's game designers on the development of the game.

In a recent interview with designer Kazunori Sasaki with News Post-Seven, as reported on by MJ Vibe, Sasaki-san spoke about how he met with Jackson during his HIStory World Tour stop in Japan in December 1996 to do some photography and motion capture work for an unreleased game, presumably a new entry in Sega’s Digital Dance Mix game series for Saturn. The above photos of Jackson were taken during that shoot and were never publicly shown before. (The Ghost album cover has been available to the public for many years, but News Post-Seven just attached it to the pictures, for some reason.)

He then discussed it with the music programmer for around an hour.
