The initial Ages games don't do much for me, as either I have them in various forms or just a general disinterest, though I am happy it is coming out for the Switch in the absence of Sega Forever.

So Atlus USA is the one who's handling Sega Ages Phantasy Star's translation.

There are also things in this Switch version they didn’t fix on purpose, to make it as close as possible to the original version.
The English translation for example still uses abbreviations, even if Atlus USA has completely re-translated the game.
Hori-san jokes he’d really like to know how the item called “Perori Mate” in Japanese is translated in English. (It’s “Cola” in English).

In Japan, it’s definitely Virtua Racing. In addition to the sales numbers, I believe that everyone was able to see the technical capabilities of M2.
But in terms of the number of tweets, Fantasy Zone was actually more popular than Virtua Racing.
For overseas, it’s more diverse. However, in terms of sales, Sonic the Hedgehog was by far the biggest seller.
The second most popular title was OutRun – especially in Europe.

The more of these games, the better. I like the new Switch games, but there is always something special about the old games I was playing. They seem to have that special touch and for sure it's mainly nostalgia, but oh well :afroman:

I'm at the same boat. :-D
May be because I'm getting old but I rarely finish modern games like Yakuza or SMT series due to how ten of hours needed to complete them.
These old games are usually short but they're fun to start over again. Very replayable

SEGA delisting Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles and CD from digital storefronts on May 20th

Rieko Kodama, also known as Phoenix Rie, has passed away.
She was a major designer for the Phantasy Star series, directing IV, and produced several games including Altered Beast, Phantasy Star IV, Alex the Kidd, Sonic 1, and Skies of Arcadia.
She will be greatly missed.

The SEGA AGES series was Kodama’s last project at SEGA.

In a bittersweet moment, Kodama ended her interview with Famitsu remarking “This might upset some people, but I work on each as though it were the last thing I did with my life”.
Kodama continued, saying “If I didn’t actually do it that way, I wouldn’t be able to make something as full of heart as these. And I really have worked on all of them as though they were my last project.”

Elevator Action Returns was originally released as a 2D side-scrolling shooter game by TAITO in 1995. This game is a reproduction of the home console version released by Bing in 1997.
Select one of three special forces members—Kart Bradfield, Edie Burret, or Jad the Taff—then start the game. Grab data from all the red doors, then escape the stage.
When every stage has been cleared, players will also be able to play the first game in the series, Elevator Action (single-player only).

Cleopatra Fortune was originally released as an arcade puzzle game by TAITO in 1996. This game is a reproduction of the home console version released in 1997.
In Arcade Mode, players wipe out falling stones, treasures, coffins, and mummies by arranging closures or line clears to score high points. Two players can also play against each other.
In Mystery Mode, players can enjoy the story as they clear 50 problems posed by the Sphinx.

City Connection has announced BATSUGUN Saturn Tribute Boosted for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (Steam). It will launch on May 25 worldwide.
In Japan, physical standard and Special editions will be available for PlayStation 4 and Switch for 4,180 yen and 7,480 yen, respectively.

Protect your base, expand your territories, and capture as many free and enemy bases as possible by accumulating resources and building units to assist you. But watch out! Fly too far into enemy territory and there may be a price to pay.
Choose between three different modes to achieve your goals: fighter plane, ground battle, and transportation. Travel faster and transport units to other bases with fighter plane mode. Manage energy usage and do more damage, by switching to the grounded, robot form.
Play against AI or friends via the online multiplayer mode only available in the SEGA AGES version of Herzog Zwei. If jumping into a game sounds too intimidating, try out practice mode, a robust robot tutorial. With save states and replays as well, this game is perfect for newcomers and Herzog Zwei veterans alike.

Sequel to the original Wonder Boy, Wonder Boy: Monster Land returns in SEGA AGES for Nintendo Switch!
The arcade platform action RPG stars a now-teenage Tom-Tom, also known as Wonder Boy. Having previously saved Wonder Land from clutches of the evil king, the hero is called upon again when the evil MEKA dragon invades.
