Hey folks,
So I dug out my old Dreamcast recently and started using the VMUs Pips NYT (https://pipsnyt.com) again. What’s throwing me off is how quickly the batteries drain. I popped in a fresh pair of CR2032s and within a couple of days the low battery icon was already flashing. I’m not even using the mini-games much, just basic saves.
Is this just how VMUs have always been, or could mine have something wrong with it? I don’t remember the batteries dying this fast back in the day. Curious if anyone else is seeing the same thing, and if there are any tricks to make them last longer.

How old were the batteries? Or maybe VMUs lose their charge after decades?
