want to know the general differences between the games and which one is "best".
this is what I know:
Spikeout - 1999 (Model 3 arcade - superior to Naomi Spikers Battle?)
Spikers Battle - 200X (Naomi, inferior to Spikeout?)
Spikeout Battle Street (Xbox - 2005) how does it compare to the other 2 versions?
question: is Spikeout Battle Street worth $15 now?
thanks.

This is a Sega related question I'm going to move it to the Sega discussion board where you will get more replies.

Spike Out is a Streets of Rage wannabe; Battle is a spin-off , it is another genre: it is a fighting game with bad controls and camera and system.
Battle Street is the sequel to Spike Out, and Spike Jr. is the main character (he is the son of Spike, main character of Spike Out).
Despite the fact it is a sequel, the game is poor and not fun.
I think it is the worst series made by Nagaoshi that I can remind.

It is made using the Shenmue engine, and is similar to the Yakuza battle engine.

Now not the Internet mode has been dropped . It was ace fun online and a cracking game to boot imo

Well, I went ahead and ordered a copy. :|
Beats me, I was playing Diehard Arcade and it sort of randomly occurred to me that I had never played Spike Out in any form and wanted to get that out of the way while I still own an Xbox 1.
Probably just nostalgia more than anything. I'm not expecting to love this game and am already expecting to be tolerant of its faults.
To the best of my knowledge I have never encountered the original Spike Out in an arcade. I wish Sega would consider it for digital release but maybe that is far fetched.
I think it is the worst series made by Nagaoshi that I can remind.
Well, as a Yakuza fan I'll play it just to see if there are any links of origin in the battle system.
