Someone has got the new release of the cheaper version of Phantasy Star Portable 2 for the PSP earlier than the official release date, and it had a surprise: you can use some part of the data played on PSP2 in the newest title PHANTASY STAR PORTABLE 2 INFINITY that is coming soon.
No more info at now, but we are getting a new version of the game soon!!
-
*sigh* This better not be the only Phantasy Star news this year :(
-
PSP I presume? Boo.
-
So PSP Infinity is an upgrade, like a ver. 2? Here's hopinh PSO2 news is to come (360 and PS3 please).
-
And here's to hoping it won't involve paying 10 bucks a month.
-
Sounds like a upgrade game like the Monster Hunter games.
-
So how has the game PSP2 been selling in japan? Kinda curious

Phantasy Star Portable 2 saw a decrease in sales from the original.
Phantasy Star Portable
First Week: 349,455
Life Time: 636,973
(PSP The Best sold an additional 25,176)
Phantasy Star Portable 2
First Week: 284,883
Life Time: 580,726
(PSP2 The Best is released this week in Japan)
PSP1 is the 9th best selling game on the PSP in Japan and PSP2 is the 11th.

That's not bad, still a bti dissapointing though, especially when psp2 seems to be way better than it's predecessor. Maybe it needs time, with this infinite thing coming out it might build some interest.
PS: I have a lot of respect and appreciation for you all that keep up with these kind of stuff.

Well either way, it recored the biggest sales for any Phantasy Star game, the Dreamcast games in Japan did;
Phantasy Star Online
First Week: 80,666
Life Time: 185,543
Phantasy Star Online V. 2
First Week: 108,411
Life Time: 167,345
The series has never managed to break the 200,000 barrier in Japan, so either way the portable titles really made a big splash for SEGA. Another thing to note is that PSP2 still managed to outsell every release on Phantasy Star Online on the Xbox and GameCube combined in North America, so it's done extremely well in regards to the series' sales history, even if sales declined from Phantasy Star Portable.

Heh thanks, at least I know someone out there apperciates my sales talk!

This one has enemies from PSO. The green robot (from the Mines level) and the centaur thing (from the Ruins) to be exact.
-
What does the text above the mine enemy say? (asking any Japanese speakers) I have the feeling it is something about how Infinity will have some nods to PSO in celebration of the 10th anniversary.
-
Love the character design.
We are getting this version or the regular one?

both probably... but the 'regular' one comes out september.
-
Am I the only one who has lost all desire to buy the regular one in september?
-
I remember when PSO ver.2 was announced and I had already bought ver.1 and still had a ways to go before I cracked the new content in Ver.2. When I finally got into the real meat of Ver.2 the Dreamcast was all but dead. Made me a sad Barry.

one of the most stupid things with sega games these days is the huge gap between the jap & us releases . i don't know when those companies well start to learn and overcome this issue!
-
Well, if you can use the standard version's save file you could just get that one and then trade it in for the infinite version later.

Something about "this monster from PSO" and "Episode 2's story". My Japanese is really basic. Hey Storm, where are you?
