I discovered the name of the game on the Australian Classification Board at this URL:http://http://www.classification.gov.au/www/cob/find.nsf/5b6ebdff7f5b9a24ca2575ca00062226/3751a3d760946cabca2577ea005804fc?OpenDocument
the title is multiplat. but i'm not sure if it's a new version or the same title from 1987.

Get the **** outta here!!
-
umm
here's a bit of wiki, I read this like 4 years back
Sega renewed the Super Hang-On trademark with the U.S Patent Office in early April 2006.[citation needed] There is speculation that a new Super Hang-On game might be released on one of the new-generation consoles or off the Sega Lindbergh architecture.[citation needed]
Although 4 years ago it wasn't tagged with citation needed.

In the perfect world this would be an HD remake, or even just a direct arcade port...
Most likely it is just the Genesis release for Steam but horribly ported without any special work done on it at all.
-
I was too excited, probably it's only the VC (WII) version of the original game  .
Yes cube I also noticed years ago the new trademark.
-
You got to be ****** kiddin me
-
Sorry CrazyTails, but not all hopes are over
nothing has not been announced yet...

What you crying about?
Yu Suzuki had all his 80s catalog ported/remade for Windows CE (read Dreamcast), so he could use them in Shenmue's You Arcade.
So you won't have to worry about those games fall below expectations.
And when was the last time an AM2 game disappointed with the exception of Virtua Quest, they got way to over confident with that one.
-
SEGA did try and make a new Hang On game for the last generation and it really didn't get anywhere, I'm not sure what they could do with the series myself , Hang_On onthe Saturn was utter crap.
Maybe Sumo Digital will make a new one , they love the game so much, I'm sure they would do it for free on consoles or the PSP2. I rather see SEGA update Power Drift myself
-

I wouldnt mind either!
I agree though, I can't really see them getting anywhere with a new Hang-On. I think that is a series that should probably stay in the past because an update would only dilute its classic image. With a game that could never hope to be as innovative in the tech department or even in the minds of games in todays 'Its got to be really realistic or really zainey' market.
Bike games have come to the end of their evolution.
Now, if Sega are to do anything with a Bike series... Wild Riders would be perfect for XBLA/PSN. What an awesome game.
-
^ Agreed
Super Hang On should be part of a SEGA classic Sprite download collection for XBLA and PSN and left at that. The likes of Power Drift have much better potential for a console or Arcade update .
Speaking of Bikes I always wished Motor Raid used the Akria licence and a game made around the gangs streets fighting around the streets of Toyko with the Akria soundtrack blasting in the backround
-
I didn't like Power Drift all that much, even hang-on was nothing special and not my most played game on the genesis/md.
The most time I spent playing Hang-On was probably in Shenmue only. So if Hang-On is to be resurrected it has to offer more, but what you want it to offer?
I am not a racing game enthusiast and isn't the genre dying anyway.
Edit: Hadn't read TA's comments on the last page.
@TA: Sega can't take full responsibility for Hang-On Saturn, as it wasn't an in-house game and second it was delayed forever.
The game hit Japan in 94, US 95, Europe 96 and games aged alot faster durring the 4th Gen.

POWERDRIFT? A bit before your time, mate I'd thought PS carp like Wipeout is more your type. Prolly because its the only kind of "car" game you can actually play.

It was programmed by Genki but produced and designed by SEGA. No different from Daytona USA 2001 - Same deal, designed by SEGA programmed by Genki. I think SEGA should take a lot of the flack, just like with Shinobi on the Saturn, which was also handed out to a 3rd party to program. Classic IP should always be handled with care, because you only hurt and upset your own fans
Prolly because its the only kind of "car" game you can actually play
1) Wipeout isn't a car game, and 2) it's quite difficult to play actually.
Oh if you want a bit of fun and a challenge for a SEGA racing game beat this lap time on SEGA RALLY with a non modded car. I bet you can't

See you really are stupid or you would have gotten the "" part.
And how does answering a challenge(that you probably nicked from someone else's video site) prove that you even played POWERDRIFT? Just as i thought, Give up kid.
-
^
That is my youtube page  , so you've lost me on that one  . But speaking of Power Drift I own the game on the Saturn and Dreamcast (In both forms) , but if we're on about the Arcades I played it 1st in CopperCoin down Porthcawl in 1989. Though Why I'm even bother to tell you this when you can not prove you played Power Drift beats me .
Now try and beat that lap time in SEGA RALLY. Its pretty good , if I must say so myself

I said the video mate, get it right. just because you have a YT page doesn't mean sqat that the video was made originally by you.
As for playing PD, i doubt it very much you played it back in 89 let alone now.
As for the challenge? Am I really going to find a video camera tape my self and put it on YT just to satisfy you? No, because i don't have the time(I actually work for a living, do you?) and its childish. The last resort for someone who can't argue their case has to go down the route of who['s the better player. Cool when I was ten even when i was 15 but in my mid thirties? its sad that you had to show your age that way, really sad.

TA will show Joe what true speed really is.
He sees it.
He sees it.
He sees it now.
It's always been inside of him.
-
TA hasn't the talent to know what speed is let alone play SR. but to each their own.

Oh you make me laugh, I recorded that Video, I put that video up, I am the source G.D are my initials, and Ger short for my name.
It all goes back to a thread on VGI way back in 2003

So bad Luck and before you start. There was no Youtube back in 2003 not that I had a PC able to record footage until 2006

I could have said 1998 when it 1st came out , but Arcades in the S. Wales weren't quite that lucky.
Am I really going to find a video camera tape my self and put it on YT just to satisfy you
That would be nice , not just Rally, you name the SEGA racer and we'll have a race and post our times (i'm preet tasty on Sukzua short on F335) , or what about online on the 360 or PS3 ? say Out Run II , Sega Rally ?.
I'm ready

It was joke. In all honestly I assume both of you are going to be around as good as one another.
If you guys ever have any way to record something like this, be sure to post it on here. It would be the most interesting standoff to happen to this community since Kogen vs SegaKid '08.

TA will show Joe what true speed really is.
I would on SEGA Rally . I'm might proud of that time.

Well, Outrun 2/2 SP turned out to be pretty awesome. Maybe it could work?
-
Being a huge fan of Outrun 2, I hope they do something else in that style. SEGA arcade racing, nothing else like it.

Spot on, there's a total lack of a pure fun Arcade racer this gen (Split 2nd is about it) . I love to see SEGA update Power Drift with full 13 player Link Up (for Arcades ) 13 player Online for the home
Would love a SEGA IV by the Japense Arcade Team , made like SEGA RALLY II for the Arcades 1st, then with a season mode and Online (sadly it was Japan only) for the Home port . Having all the Rally tracks from the 1st 2 games, full on weather and Night effects would be brilliant
Just don't think there's any market for those sorts of games any more to cover the expense. Just hope SEGA bring the likes of SEGA Classic racer , Race TV, Scud Race, Super Hang-On to PSN/XBLA, that sort of would do me these days
