What are you getting SASASR on?
I wanted to get it on PS3, but it depends on everyone else here. I have all consoles.
-
I am getting it for XBOX 360. I don't own a PS3 yet.
-
Xbox 360 because the controller has SEGADNA.

Getting it for the 360. The only way to play with yourself in HD! I'm talking about the Avatar support, of course.
-
IF then Xbox.

360

PS3
I don't own a 360.
I'm not going to buy another console just for REZ and Ikaruga HD.
-
PS3. I'll ahve to wait for the reviews, tho.

360.

PS3, Wii & DS. XB360 in the future. I want it all!!!
Primaly the PS3 version.
What about STORY MODE? Is there any story?

Thank god there isnt a story mode!
How do you think they would make a story with Ryo Hazuki and AiAi the Monkey even the slightest bit cohearant?
-
Story mode? Are you serious?
I've seen this movie.
-
There is a story mode in Smash Bros., and it is very fun! Even Tetris has a story...
Those lazy people...-_-;;

Your deffinition of fun and mine are wildly different... Smash Broes story was bloody terrible!
-
360, because my bf is getting it on that. ^^;
Otherwise I would get it on PC, but that anti-piracy software is a little iffy. Maybe it is better on Steam and they just mean the other versions.
-

It was pretty horrible. Actually downright terrible.
I don't know why anyone would want a storyline in a racing crossover game with both children and adult series. But then again, I don't know why anyone would be excited about the werehog in Sonic Unleashed.
-
Also yes, a story mode would be bad. All I would want similar to that is an arcade mode that is like Super Hang-on, Outrun, or something. Just race some tracks, it getting harder, then a special ending for each character. That is enough 'story'.
-
I really have to give SEGA credit, they're smart enough not to put a hackneyed story mode in a franchise kart racer. If you want a game with a storyline involving multiple SEGA IPs, give Segagaga a go. That is how you do it properly. Not some lame "Sonic enters a magic mirror and meets Ryo who mistakes Sonic for Shadow and then Eggman steals the Dragon Mirror and B.D.Joe meets Tom and they have a hot dog".
-
For the tennis game they were going to let Dreadknux at Sonic Stadium and AAUK write the story. SEGA rejected it.
-

Please tell me you're joking and neither actually planned anything along the lines of a storyline.
Normally I would assume it's a joke but since AAUK is trying to get Bentley Jones into everything SEGA...
-
No, madame, I am not joking. They had it finished but SEGA just did not allow them to do it. It even involved reasoning as to why two of the same characters could exist at the same time.
-
Looking at this I am very unsure whether to get the ps3 version or the 360 version
I prefer my ps3 and looks like a fair few people are picking up that version n
-
I'm glad any possible plot was dropped. I believe in the Mystery Science Theater explanation of plot holes and inconsistency in media:
Just repeat to yourself "It's just a [s:2aziw6ou]show[/s:2aziw6ou] game"
-
Xbox 360,mo'fo!

360, mainly because there won't be any half-baked motion-control related gimmicks, also the 360 control does look like a dreamcast one. The only downside is the awful cover which to make things worse has Banjo. Right now i'm working on solving this trouble by making a custom cover because the only justice in this world is the one you take by your own hand >:-/

Also, 360 cause it is the only one I got. That is because it is the only one that has a controller that doesn't hurt my hands.

The "ballad of gay bentley" part was the best!
Still i said fix it, not broke it even more...

maybe having Hank Hill solves the problem....
-
I don't have any current generation consoles yet, so I'll get a 360 and this. Ryo in this game is my breaking point. Then I'll get a Rock Band game so I can jam to some Offspring.
-
You should just get a Playstation 3 so you can play Yakuza 3 and Valkyria Chronicles!
Unless you also want VOOT, which is a sound alternative.
-
Or plenty of House of the Dead.
-
Bah, I hate having both HD consoles. Decisions, decisions!!
-
I'll get it for all consoles, but for now 360 and DS first.

Sega should really talk to us before putting up games for sale with incomplete boxart.

Box art is missing an HD ready logo.

Only 4-5 people getting it for PS3?

I think there's no point in getting the PS3 version if you can get the 360 one. Unless you really prefer it's controller or have some personal reason to do it..

Don't want to pay 5 dollars a month to play it online, PS3 apparently has smoother framerate, though we will see when the demo is out in a few days.
I have no interest in Banjo or playing as avatars.

I used to get it for 3 bucks a month. That's as expensive as my breakfast O_o
It has smoother framerate? Supposed from the fact that the xbox demo has some slowdown or by compairson? I didn't know this

The PlayStation 3 release is the "Main" version, so most likely and so far it is running better on that platform. However, there are always room for patches and stuff.
My only issue with Banjo-Kazooie and the avatars are that I was worried most people would play as them, and of course the Sonic characters, but apparently the characters are selected on a first come first serve basis, so no doubles. Woo!

I'll be getting the ps3 version over the 360 one.
The console is quieter, less likely to break from playing it, and it won't cost me any money to play online.
Plus my brother is ps3 only and will be getting it too.
-
Only concern I have for getting it for the PS3 is the lack of interest compared to what the 360 users are showing. Free online wouldn't be an advantage if there was no one online lol.
-
I have no issues with finding people to play online with on PSN. :|
Also, Banjo for what I heard is overpowered. So, I'm glad I won't have to deal with that.

I meant in just this game's case as it isn't popular in general to begin with.
Banjo seems a bit out of place to me. Kind of like a "Hey I can be in this game too you know!!".
-
Well a few months after the SST was out, I tried to connect on live to play and there was only 1 person online. So I would not expect a huge following for this one either.

Sad world we live in where people prefer to play MAG and Halo

I think games like this could learn about games like Halo or MAG. I mean, its a fun racer offline, but not many seem to try and 'innovate' online or add more to it. The game will have basic racing modes online and its great I guess, but would have been awesome of they added perks that unlocked more items.

Doesn't this game have a store?
SST was doomed from the beginning because it's Tennis and has a cartoon style.
Kart racers on the other hand are very popular (Mario Kart). I chose Halo and MAG because in my opinion they're the most generic of generic FPS.
It needs advertising and I don't think anyone knows about it.
-
Selling millions is a doomed game?
What was it, Final Fantasy Tennis?

I have a feeling that most of the audience of SST don't even know what online gaming is.

I knew there was a reason they weren't talking about it... And only 3 battle maps? This is probably the worst thing I've heard about the game so far.
While I'm still getting the game, that is a serious blow to the 'fun factor'.
I'm really impressed with the mechanics of the game and the levels are nice looking... Beyond that the game has been handled like shit.
-The countless missed opportunities for fan service and inclusion of new IPs that just seem so damn obvious. (ie, weapons...)
-Why so many tracks based on so little IPs?... and some of the choises... Billy Hatcher? Sonic Heroes? nobody likes these games.
-7 sonic characters... really?
- and now the gimped battle mode?
-an yes, While trivial, that bloody long arse name still grinds...
At first I couldn't see why people would say Mario Kart was better, because the mechanics are great, more fun the mario kart... But all the little things add up and I think Sumo/S0L have really dicked us over on this one.
-
I could see a DLC weapons pack or similar b.s. I think some of this might be addressed that way (DLC).
Anyway, I've been waiting for the PSN demo all week. I'll post impressions of that version if nobody else has.
-
Battle mode is something you need to use with friends, so no AI at all. They realize Sonic fans do not have IRL friends so they decided to keep it minimal.
But for that, I think the amount of game types in battle mode is pretty cool. AFAIK Mario Kart does not have stuff like King of the Hill and Catch the Chao.
The level choices is the worst part of the game for me. I can understand they would have to base most/all off of 3D games, but at least use some games people played... I have no idea how they even made 3 Samba De Amigo levels, or who would even want any... Why would they not use levels from actual SEGA racing games when stuff like Daytona USA is the most iconic racing game of all time? What about that time in the dev diary where S0L hinted at them using an R-Tuned level? Do not get our hopes up like that man!
I could see a DLC weapons pack or similar b.s. I think some of this might be addressed that way (DLC).
They just did not think of it, I guess. All of the items we saw early on were just filler and replaced with other generic items... I have no idea why they used some items from Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Monkey Ball but then decided to call it a day?
-
Guess I'm back to considering if I'll get the game on top of my platform dilemma.
For those who were getting it for PC, they said PC version doesn't have online.
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8wWX-HoNtk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8wWX-HoNtk)
Trailer for the mobile version of the game, it looks... Playable! Well, pretty good for what it is really.
And apparently the PC version has no online play at all. I think the worst part about this is that the DS release of the game actually DOES! Why would they even bother with a PC release when they could have spent the money on just improving the other releases? Now probably everyone will steal it on that when they might have just bought it on a console.
My God, this game is just so lopsided. I cannot believe some of the stuff that has happened to it. Hopefully they can fix problems like these with patches and updates, or just a sequel... Better yet, why not make different games for the platforms instead of trying so hard to make them all seem so similar but them all coming out incredibly different?

Haha, ahh seriously though, glad you can see why I dislike this game finally.
-
offline only battle mode is a shame, although I never played the battle mode on mario kart wii as they ruined it.
as long as the online races are decent, is there any levelling like in racers like motorstorm at all?
-
PS3 demo is up! (At least on the EU store). Will get it after the Yakuza 3 demo.
I don't like that SUMO is advertising 1 version of the game out of 5. Microsoft's money speaks volumes lol.
-
I don't like that EVERY SINGLE GAME that has ads here in Portugal only shows the PS versions. It's insane.

Isn't SUMO only showing the 360 versions? Over at the SEGA boards, most are getting it for the 360.
-
For what the Sumo got, they handled it pretty well, they just could've...gotten more of SEGA and less of Sonic (Team).

Seriously? Does it at least have LAN support? Apparently it has four player splitscreen... and they didn't put in online because it will most likely be illegally downloaded. What.
Also, I plan on getting it for the 360 most likely. But playing the PS3 and 360 demos the PS3 one seems to have to have a noticeably better framerate. I will have to try the 360 one again. Oh, and the 360 and PS3 demo feature different levels. PS3 obviously favors Billy Hatcher. And instead of Bear and Bird you get Eggman.

I have yet to see ads for the game here.. But rule of thumb is game ads only showing up PS versions, not even mentioning other consoles.
-
I will buy the 360 version and perhaps later the Wii version
-
The ads will show the MS version because obviously so me sort of deal involved with Microsoft.
-
I think they will have two or three different commercials.
Saturday morning cartoon ads for the Nintendo releases.
PlayStation 3 ads on Bravo and VH1 and sometimes during reruns of Boy Meets World.
Xbox 360 one exclusively plays during James Bond marathons.
-
I wish there were always Boy Meets World re-runs.

Good to see SEGA advertising the worse versions of the game. I assume they use PS3/360 footage for the advert.

For one thing Wii games come out cheaper. If you plan on getting it day one it could be a factor to consider.

not really, I have all three consoles and will be getting it for an hd system day one, with the other hd system a month or so later.
But then again I do work for a living, having no children/dependants, am renting and have a lot of disposable income that I like to waste so I can appreciate that my situation is different from a others, how much cheaper are we taking here, £5?
The PC version is by far the cheapest at £14 byt I doubt many will be paying for it. (assuming people that play pc games just pirate everything.)

Why bother getting it for both 360 and PS3? They're the same game, well, the 360 has more stuff. Why not just get that?
-
I was going to see if tournaments or game nights were set up here on the bits' site, I bought the ps3 version of outrun and have never managed to play with anyone from here.
It looks like the majority are buying the 360 version so i'll probably buy it if I can get it cheap enough but like to use my ps3 as my main console.
-
I'm getting it for the Sega Genesis.
BLAST PROCESSING > 360
-
Genesis version is the best looking one so far.
-
Has the best soundtrack as well since it can't play music from Sonic Heroes.

Outrun on PS3 didn't come out in North America

Is there some xbox US exclusivity deal going on there?

I PM'd SOL back when it came out. He basically said that it was SCEA's call.
I really have no clue why they didn't opt to release it here. Seems pretty stupid to me.
I thought about ordering a UK PSN card to download it, but haven't gotten around to it. Part of me hopes that it'll come out here some day :-/

Oh, if you do decide to go for it then I wouldn't suggest getting a PSN card as whoever sells them is looking for making a profit.
As it's over £5 here you would probably best creating a UK PSN account and getting someone to add the funds with their debit card. That way you pay exactly what it costs and still have it exclusive to you.
