Title: hook my Blu Ray player hdmi
Post by: muritala on January 28, 2011, 03:17:40 am
Can I hook my Blu Ray player hdmi out to my pc monitor dvi using a hdmi dvi cable connector cord. Will it work? I have a dvi 22inch monitor screen and a blu ray hdmi player. I have audio speakers in the monitor, since I realize dvi wont carry sound. Will it give me a video that will work?

OK wrong section, but I'm about to go to bed so I'll just answer it quick.

If you have a HDMI to DVI cord, it will carry only the picture. To get sound, use the regular 'AV jacks' and hook them up to speakers. This should work. This is how I have my PS3 set up.

George responds to spam when it has to do with PlayStation 3.

Bluray player =/= PS3.

Another fanboy comment like that and you'll be banned.

I had to LOL at a recent blu-ray I purchased. Sticker on the box said "plays on blu-ray players and PS3!". DVDs need a sticker that says "Plays on DVD players, blu-ray players, PS2, PS3, XBOX, XBOX 360, hacked Wii's and severely modded Dreamcasts!".
