The gothic trailer showed two guns that, according to Arcade Heroes, were also used in the 2022 coin-op VR Agent, a collaboration between Sega and 3MindWave. The site also says it has confirmed the game will use VR tech.

Arcade Heroes did some more digging and found that Sega Amusements’ official website has a page for House of the Dead Reawakened. The site also notes that Attractions Magazine has referenced the game's title and stated that it will be running on ...

About bloody time!

For the remakes on Steam, I have asked them to consider a VR-mode... twice!

So, my two questions are:
  • Will this be a VR-port of the remakes, or a new THotD game for VR?
  • Will it get a Steam release?

1. Nothing official has been shared other than the teaser trailer & website but according to rumour it's a new one developed by 3MINDWAVE using Unreal Engine 5.
The gameplay is kinda like VR Agent or may be Alpha Ops VR Strike (both of these games were developed by 3MINDWAVE) :

2. Considering all SEGA Amusement games that developed by 3MINDWAVE (VR Agent, Apex Rebels, Alpha Ops VR Strike, Storm Racer 2, Storm Rider 2, ATV Slam, etc) were released for arcade and never being ported to PC and consoles, most likely this will be arcade exclusive only.

God damnit!
I'm starting to think I'll have to resort to the right emulators and ROMs if I want to play Scarlet Dawn and this upcoming THotD:VR game. I don't want to given I have morals with emulating games younger than seventh or early-eighth generation old (that and I feel I'd be "pushing my luck" if I did get more modern emulators). But arcade games are just too exclusive for me! Hell, there's hardly any emulators for modern arcade games.

Hm, 3MINDGAMES have a website with a "Contact Us" page for enquiries. Wouldn't hurt to send them an email asking if they will consider re-releasing their games to Steam.

But I know won't guarantee anything. Especially given Sega are the ones with exclusivity rights. (Just as Demiurge Studios have released mobile games for Steam, but not Sega Heroes.)

Yeah, the chance is very slim.

Halloween is just three days away, and the arcade’s biggest horror game is reawakening. Come and experience it first-hand on SEGA Amusements International’s stands S4602 and S4803 at IAAPA Orlando, 17th–20th November.

Nearly thirty years after it first arrived in arcades, House of the Dead returns in an attraction experience format. Ahead of the franchise’s 30th anniversary next year, SEGA Amusements International unveils its most ambitious build yet: a two-player, attendant-free horror attraction designed to anchor any location.

House of the Dead has been in arcades since 1997. There have been five amusement titles, plus spin-off movies and console games, and the series has a global following among hardcore horror fans and casual players alike. There have been five amusement titles, plus spin-off movies and console games, and the series has a global following among horror fans and casual players alike.

“We’re proud to bring this quintessential horror game back to arcades in our most impressive build to date, all under one simple promise: ‘Dare to Experience’,” says Siraj Elkhawad, CEO of SEGA Amusements International. “With the franchise’s 30th anniversary just around the corner, this means a great deal to us. The House of the Dead brand has defined horror gaming for a generation, and reawakening it like this, for the very first time, felt like the only way to do that legacy justice.”

I doubt a ROM of it will be release ASAP, but do you think it will work on TeknoParrot? And that is presuming I'll ever get the Steam Frame and that it does not work exclusively for Steam games. (Though I can add non-Steam games to Steam to be able to use the overlay with them. It's how I got to play Fallout: London with Steam's Controller Settings.)

While it goes against my morals to emulate console games younger than seventh-gen, I just don't see how it would be at all possible for me to ever get to play Reawakening (or Scarlet Dawn). Sega has not offered any news on giving these games PC releases and honestly, doubt they ever will. So Emulation really is my only way at this point.

It might work since TeknoParrot has added built-in VR options and stereoscopic 3D modes but nobody can be sure since nobody has tested it yet for Reawakened.

It'll still be something to look forward to, if anyone cracks it for ROMSFUN.
