Learn about the creation of Sonic Team’s new animated logo

Fans of the Saturn and Dreamcast eras fondly recall lovely little animated logos with sound effects as they started up games like NiGHTS into Dreams and Sonic Adventure.
But starting with Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Team’s logo was simply a static image on a black background.
Even big name titles like Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and Sonic Unleashed opted for a plain static logo, often being upstaged by a cute animated logo for the Hedgehog Engine.
But after the success of ...

Or second playthrough? Like new game plus is using Super Sonic?
We still don't know yet. Nothing's been confirmed.
I do like the idea of a special mode unlocked just for Super Sonic. Maybe an Extra Hard mode but Super Sonic is exclusively available for it.
If it's a remake then it'd probably handled by third party.
Sonic Team's resources are already busy and focusing on making new Sonic games.
Third Party developers had better luck making games for Sega other than Sonic. Sonic Mania was the only game that came out great. Origins and Colours Ultimate... not so much. From all the modern games they could remake, they wasted it on a glitchy remake of Colours.
All they care about are money and investment.
Hoping that someday they could sell it again what they bought in a higher price.
Yeah but NFTs are literally nothing. NFTs are only valuble to those that give a damn about them. Other than that they're worthless inside the market.
Did they even reference real cities in the previous movies?
Like New York or Washington D.C.?
I kinda forgot.
Other than San Francisco, Sonic visits other major locations in the world like Paris, Great Wall of China and Giza.

You'll be busy playing Sonic Frontiers demo to notice those girls anyway if you went there.

That'strue. Gotta prioritize on interactions I can succeed with.

Is that the modern 1-up theme? I suppose it's been repurposed now that 1-ups were made redundant since Forces.

It is pretty cool. I prefer the soft Saturn-Dreamcast era Sonic Team logo myself.

Hopefully different. If the level and enemies just stay the same, it would be an easy mode with Super Sonic.

Third Party developers had better luck making games for Sega other than Sonic. Sonic Mania was the only game that came out great. Origins and Colours Ultimate... not so much. From all the modern games they could remake, they wasted it on a glitchy remake of Colours.

Not Aliens Colonial Marines though.

This mess is worse than all other bad Sonic games combined.

Yeah, I meant in US, I forgot about San Fransisco, but for China etc, those scenes were memorable.
If San Fransisco could make it then I guess other cities too.

Yeah, even the classic ones like Origins has ditched 1-ups.
The theme is for star tokens now in Origins.
To unlock music, movies, and artworks.

wonder how he feels with all the BotW like elements in the game?

I don't think he's the kind that compare one game to other.
What he said it always short.
He's a game director after all, not game reviewer.
If it's good then it's good.

Also Sakurai is one of game director who understands Sonic.
Sonic was always fun to play in Super Smash Bros.
That's why it kinda matters.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! & Sonic Frontiers won the 2022 Future Award

Quote
The Future Award is an award given to popular upcoming games that appeared at Tokyo Game Show.
Japanese publishers would often include this award on their games’ official websites.
It also acts as a sign that the Japanese public is looking forward to those titles the most, as public votes determine the award winners.

Rumour: Sonic Frontiers aims for 720p and 30fps on Nintendo Switch

Quote
One of the attendees spoke to one of the SEGA representatives at last week’s Tokyo Game Show to find out what resolution and frame rate we should expect for the upcoming Sonic Frontiers.
The individual was informed that the Nintendo Switch version of Sonic Frontiers aims to be 720p and 30fps on the Switch family of systems.
Those of you with a PlayStation 5 should expect to be able to choose from two options 4K and 30fps or 1080p and 60fps.

Super Sonic Will Apparently Be Mandatory For Some Bosses In Sonic Frontiers

Quote
Sonic Frontiers director Morio Kishimoto states, "Normally in Sonic games you'll encounter a boss and you'll fight them as regular, blue Sonic.
In Sonic Frontiers, there will be bosses that blue Sonic can't even scratch.
But if he collects and uses all seven Chaos Emeralds, he can become Super Sonic and then battle those bosses.
Becoming Super Sonic will be the only way to fight them."

Hopefully different. If the level and enemies just stay the same, it would be an easy mode with Super Sonic.
By the looks of it, it looks like Super Sonic will serve a role similar to a Trance or Limit Break for Sonic. I imagine collecting the emeralds to unlock Super Sonic will still be a thing but that would probably take up half the game than  most of it.
Not Aliens Colonial Marines though.

This mess is worse than all other bad Sonic games combined.
Really? I guess Sega has had hard luck licking the right third party developers. Not like they can complain if they can't be bothered to make their own games.
Yeah, I meant in US, I forgot about San Fransisco, but for China etc, those scenes were memorable.
If San Fransisco could make it then I guess other cities too.
Oh for sure. In Sonic's second movie, Sonic tries to get his "Blue Justice" reputation as a hero in Seattle.
Yeah, even the classic ones like Origins has ditched 1-ups.
The theme is for star tokens now in Origins.
To unlock music, movies, and artworks.
I don't mind lives being made redundant but I really think Sonic Team should repurpose 1-ups in Sonic games than just ditching them along with lives.

In Sonic Forces, while the game has infinite lives in penalizes your overall score whenever you die. I would keep 1-ups in the game and make them grant bonus points to your overall score of equal value to penalized points whenever you die. That way 1-ups can still be used without the need of a life system.

True. He probably regards Frontiers a sort of tribute to Breath of the WIld. And Nintendo likes it when Sega kisses the ring.

This is why I believe unlocking Super Sonic will be a mid-story thing than a side-story thing.

Not just new games, ports too.
Ports usually aren't handled by SEGA themselves.
For example, Steam port of console games.
Sonic Forces, Yakuza 0, and Valkyria Chronicles 4's ports to PC were handled by HARDLight and there were no problems at all.

It worked well indeed for achieving S in every Sonic Forces' levels.

It's kinda like you're treating Sakurai as Shigeru Miyamoto.
Although he developed games for Nintendo, Masahiro Sakurai is not a Nintendo Employee.
Sakurai also isn't the maker or developer of Breath of the Wild, he had no obligation to compare Sonic to it.
If he want to compare Sonic, it would fit most to Kirby since he's the creator of Kirby.
Sakurai talked a lot about non Nintendo games too, for example he praises Horizon Zero Dawn too.

Sonic Prime releases this winter to Netflix – watch the new teaser trailer now!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJPSNYVSehU

Quote
The trailer itself shows Sonic racing Shadow while causing Big the Cat to fall over. Poor Big.
Also teased is Doctor Eggman in a new mech and the show’s plot of reality being shattered.
It’s all very “Into the Spider-Verse” of them, but still cool.

I don't mind bonus stages, I just hate Sonic 3 Special Stages and Blue Sphere. I'd rather it be pinball or Sonic Mania Special Stages or hell even Sonic 1 Special Stages.

I dunno. They already have Skill Points so why need regular points in general? And I doubt the game will use 1-ups let alone lives.

I'm not comparing Sakurai to Shigeru Miyamoto. Just feels like as long as Nintendo plays by sega's rules then Nintendo will let Sega have a longer leash.

it is. Told you Speed Sim had it's flaws that I often exploit. Heck Metal Madness had an exploit that allowed me to freely explore the course and they fixed it but not before I took my time collecting them purple things.

Same with Metal City. I chose Big the Cat avatar and wondered around the city while raced whizz past me. I must had been quite the sight.

SEGA isn't just Sonic. Yakuza, maimai, Total War, Chunithm, Football Manager, PSO2, and Judgment are things that Nintendo wouldn't be able to catch up.
