By the looks of it, it looks like Super Sonic will serve a role similar to a Trance or Limit Break for Sonic. I imagine collecting the emeralds to unlock Super Sonic will still be a thing but that would probably take up half the game than most of it.
As long as we don't have to play som mini games that has different gameplay to get emeralds.
I really hate Sonic 3, Sonic CD, and Sonic Mania bonus games' gameplay that I never bothered to collect the emeralds.
Really? I guess Sega has had hard luck licking the right third party developers. Not like they can complain if they can't be bothered to make their own games.
Not just new games, ports too.
Ports usually aren't handled by SEGA themselves.
For example, Steam port of console games.
Sonic Forces, Yakuza 0, and Valkyria Chronicles 4's ports to PC were handled by HARDLight and there were no problems at all.
I don't mind lives being made redundant but I really think Sonic Team should repurpose 1-ups in Sonic games than just ditching them along with lives.
In Sonic Forces, while the game has infinite lives in penalizes your overall score whenever you die. I would keep 1-ups in the game and make them grant bonus points to your overall score of equal value to penalized points whenever you die. That way 1-ups can still be used without the need of a life system.
It worked well indeed for achieving S in every Sonic Forces' levels.
Frontiers has open zone though, would the scoring system be available?
True. He probably regards Frontiers a sort of tribute to Breath of the WIld. And Nintendo likes it when Sega kisses the ring.
It's kinda like you're treating Sakurai as Shigeru Miyamoto.
Although he developed games for Nintendo, Masahiro Sakurai is not a Nintendo Employee.
Sakurai also isn't the maker or developer of Breath of the Wild, he had no obligation to compare Sonic to it.
If he want to compare Sonic, it would fit most to Kirby since he's the creator of Kirby.
Sakurai talked a lot about non Nintendo games too, for example he praises Horizon Zero Dawn too.
I already finished it. Even found a way to freely explore the course without the Extreme Gear racing which made collecting parts very easy.
Man, that was fast.
