NHL '94 (SEGA Genesis) - 2024 Edition Hack Pacth Released!
This hack will completely update NHL ‘94 for the 2024 playoffs.

Quote
The goal is to try to provide the most refined and realistic modern versions of this all-time classic game. Key features include…

New in ’24. 800 players obsessively rated, up-to-date rosters, and realistic lines, based on even more extensive 2020-2024 regular season data. Logos, Colours, Uniforms, Arena names… everything up-to-date for the 2024 season. The Bench area has been completely re-designed, new puck design & animation, re-designed graphic overlays for Shoot-Outs, Penalty-Shots, Goal, Injuries, Stars of the Game, etc. and numerous other refinements.

Gameplay Revisioned. The gameplay has been adjusted for a more realistic modern hockey feel, with harder to score goals, easier to hit crossbars and posts, more realistic speed burst, fewer penalty calls, custom energy depletion and recovery rates (balanced for more realistic line rolling and shift length), and player rating distribution curves that have been carefully calibrated for more realistic gameplay on the ice.

Graphical Refinements.
Hundreds of other refinements have been made including title screens, banners, player photos, scoreboard, audience, face-offs, player sprites, nets, ice markings, coaches, scorekeepers, Zamboni driver, and more. The goal is to bring ...

Yes, unfortunately the sales weren't that good since it has to compete not just with 16-bit games such as Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Donkey Kong Country 2 but also with many 32-bit games such as ...

If only it was released three years earlier.
True, but same could be said for other competing games at the time, but they were given a chance.

Imagine if Ristar franchise rivaled with Kirby!

And many has fall.
It's the start of 32-bit gaming era afterall.
16-bit games were really strugling, only the established franchised could come out on top.

Imagine if Ristar franchise rivaled with Kirby!

Yuji Naka would be proud.

Protect Me Knight And Royal Anapoko Academy Dev Is Working On A Mega Drive / Genesis JRPG entitled Archeon

Quote
Makoto "Karu_gamo" Wada has been showing off the game's development on social media; the game will adopt a first-person perspective, rather like Wizardry and Shining in the Darkness.
He seems to be rather proud of the game's "plump-bellied succubus", as shown below. "Seeing how the movement I made with the tool works effortlessly on the Mega Drive really shows how great tools are."
He's even shown the game running on ...

Them who?
The higher ups in SEGA? Naaah.
Back in 2006, Ristar designer Akira Nishino said that he has considered a sequel but never made it off the ground, and that Ristar would “probably not” return.

Behind bars, sure.

That's the main earth. In the alternate earth where Ristar got sequels and spin-offs, Yuji Naka stayed forever in SEGA and never worked for Square Enix.
