The latest news

Sega has released two fighting games this year (2014), first is Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax (I've pre-ordered the vita version, thanks God it's not region locked), and second is this.

These two somehow make me missed playing Eternal Champion on Genesis and Golden Axe The Duel on Saturn.

On topic, anyone know whether this one will get console (or handheld) version? Not just arcade?

Sega hasn't released any SHINING FORCE arcade games..actually many arcade games on console in general. There are some here waiting for a BORDERBREAK port...and that hasn't appeared ..so don't hold you're breath..

Also don't let SOJ hear you mention ETERNAL CHAMPIONS as a comparison..or they'll never release it and come up with an excuse that it will interfere with the latest VIRTUA FIGHTER game...

Hahaha, yeah, I remember about that Eternal Champions/Virtua Fighters thing back then. Sega of Japan seems to deem that the game never existed, no wonders there is no EC chars for Sega All Star Racing/Tennis, no 3D Classic version, no mobile version, etc. *sigh*

It goes back to the self destruction and petty jealousy of SOJ. ETERNAL CHAMPIONS sold 2 million on the MD. And that was the reason they were against the game when it was being developed for Saturn before it got canned. That was the reason why a lot of Sega of america Ips and games that was associated with the MD or Sega of america including Sonic didn't get a game or were treated like crap on the saturn because the SOJ managenmnet wanted to prove they could launch a succesful sega console themselves worldwide. With just their properties without no american co operation like SONIC for example.  And we all know what happened with that ...

No Mariano it won't. None of the modern arcade games from Sega has made it to console..and none of the SHINING FORCE arcade games have either. So i doubt that this will have a port..although it could happen...you can't be sure..and there's a very large pattern that arcade titles from Sega never make it to console especially now with their mobile phone focus..

Oh man, that nostalgia. I remember playing Mortal Kombat 1 and 2. Same thing with Street Fighter 1 and 2. They all are great games with fantastic music. I might just even find my Genesis in the basement and play them today  ;-D

I played Street Fighter 2 SCE almost every day back then on my Mega Drive / Genesis.
Love SF2 so much, but can't say the same about SF1. SF1's control is so weird.
