Merry Christmas to you too as well as anyone else who sees this.

The only two games I asked for this year are not Sega, but both are still worth mentioning. They are Final Fantasy 7 (PS4 remake) and Tekken 7. (Yes, I still use PS4 because I can't afford a new console right now.)

PS5 is £449.99. I can afford it... but there's only a few games I want for it that it seems kinda wasteful to buy a console for just a handful of games.

Still, I too would like to play the Final Fantasy VII remake, as well as those Spider-man games.

Merry Christmas !
Other than mobile games that has Christmas event (Sonic Dash, SEGA Heroes, Idola Phantasy Star Saga),
I can't remember much Christmas-themed SEGA games other than NiGHTS and Project Diva.
And probably those Japanese only arcade games that's published by SEGA (Kancolle, Fate, Wonderland Wars, etc)

I'll add the Die Hard one given that was made by Sega and exclusive to the Sega Saturn, with Dynamite Deka being the localization of it or something.

I was against including Home Alone 2 on account that it was for both Mega Drive and Nintendo consoles, but I decided to add it given the Mega Drive version was pretty much it's own thing made by Sega anyway.

Then this game won't be included too I guess, since it came to SNES too.

So what do you guys think about SEGA said "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas"?
(eventhough in the mobile games they said Merry Christmas, but as a company they always went with "Happy Holidays" now)

I wanted to but yah, I didn't want to choose games that were not Sega exclusive.

I remember you told me the last time they said "Merry Christmas" they were chewed out for being not being multi-religious and that when they said "Happy Holidays" they were chewed out for being non-secular.

Way I see it, while I regard Christmas as a christian holiday it's gone to the point where no one really gives a damn if it's for Christians or not. There are athiest who enjoy it (I myself can vouch for that given I'm somewhat agnostic) and I've heard there are even jews who enjoy Christmas, they just don't regard it as important as Hanukkah. And to be frank, Christmas wasn't always entirely a christian holiday. When Christianity purged europe of it's pagen roots they manage to stomp out and outlaw most holidays but Yuletide and Saturnarnia were just too popoular holidays for them to get rid of, so they claim it's Jesus' birthday when really it's not. More like a Queen's birthday sort of thing.

As an athe-agnostic or whatever I am, I'm not here to poop on Abrahamism, I'm just saying that I don't think Christmas should be a buzz-word especially if people are so divided on it that it's a losing battle whichever choice you make. I acknowledge that Christmas is a Christian holiday, I just want Christians to accept that Christmas is shared by those outside their religion. And if you strictly celebrate Hannukah, Yuletide or whatever winter holiday not to get your knickers in a twist whenever it's Christmas instead of their holiday.

So, Merry Christmas to all, or not. I'm not the fun police.

Yes, you are right.
Same thing too with Valentine Day.

Got answer on Discord that it's not because saying "Merry Christmas" is offensive.
Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, and Boxing Day all happen around the same time
and since they're all in such close correlation to one another,
most companies (including SEGA) just put all under one banner as "Happy Holidays".

I find it interchangable really, but the thing is (and I'm sorry Jews, Vikings, Africans and all other cultures for alternate winter holidays out there) Christmas is the #1 holiday of December, probably the most popular of all known holidays.
The reason why Christmas is so popular is because not only did the ancient Christians knew how to market it (adopting pre-existing winter holidays and enforcing it on others) but it is also a marketable holiday itself due to gift-givings and the material side of Christmas, thus why it has become so popular amongst corporations.

It's like how the British feel when American English is the true authority of the English language now. It's just something we brits have to put up with and accept that the world prefers "Simplified English" over "Traditional English", American TV shows in UK aren't dubbed or edited for british audience and usually foreign language TV or Movies usually turn to America to dub their shows than Britain because America is the go-to for that sort of thing by now.

Because of that it's why I think Christianity as well as those with yule logs up their arses should be leniant on promotional events that dare use the word "Merry Christmas". Especially if the use of "Happy Holidays" is for promotional events that cater specifically for Christmas. So if Sonic Boom: Speed Battle or that colourful Vocaloid phone game ever get a "Happy Holidays" event, don't hold your breath it will involve a menorah or a kinara, it'll likely have someone dressed as Santa Claus or an elf.

(And yes, I know as a brit I use "Holiday" to refer to Easter, Valentines, Halloween and Christmas when to an englishman it means the same as what Americans call "vacation", it's just I don't know the propper british word to refer to Easter, Valentines, Halloween and Christmas. To call them "celebrations" is more of what you call a party and "observance" is like something you look at than get involved in due to traditions.)

I am a Christian and I have no problem with people saying "Happy Holidays" instead. I do normally say Merry Christmas though.

Given I don't believe in God myself, you won't be upset that I/my family still celebrate Christmas? Or if someones promoting a festive events with the word "MERRY CHRISTMAS"?

As an athiest/agnostic/whatever I don't do Christmas to spite Christians or anyone, it's just something I grew up with and something I enjoy. as in something that can be shared by all.

(I used to regard myself athiest but of the last few years I've been leaning towards agnostic. Still this isn't really a place to talk about it. Just saying why I'm vague about it.)

No. I don't mind at all. You're free to believe and celebrate whatever you like because if that's what makes you happy, then that's up to you. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
