I love it so much.
It's been long since I enjoy a different approach of gameplay of a franchise which turned out to be my liking.
The last one was Persona 5 Strikers.
(Persona games usually are turn based but this one is an action RPG + musou which surprised me of how good it is and more fun than the mainline games)

At first I hate the realistic approach of Frontiers graphic (I prefer Lost Word-style of graphic) but the gameplay was so fun and exploring the island was enjoyable.
May be for 3D Sonic games,  I'd like this game more than Generations.
Time will tell, still haven't finished the game.

Also good thing this game has three save slots.
Both of my kids love the game too so we could use different save slot for each of us.
I think I can confidently say Frontiers is my GOTY for 2022
(Unless collections like Sonic Origins is counted, it's hard to beat the love of classic games).

I have mixed feelings about the game but over-all very positive.

I myself prefer more simpler gameplay controls that past Sonic games were known for. I find most of these new attacks and skills kind of useless and really just button-mashing and hoping I'd pull off a random skill for additional damage.
And while I (and many fans) have complained about drifty controls in the past, now it feels rather stiff. Especially in Cyber Space stages where it fees like the gameplay is working against you at times.

I honestly prefer realistic over Lost World graphics, though I also prefer Sonic Adventures graphics where it sort of met half-way between realistic and Soniccy... I dunno, Dreamcast-era seemed tro have had it's own aesthetic for Sonic design.

But despite my nitpickings it is still an absolute brilliant Sonic game and wish for future Sonic games to be like it. My only wish is for the gameplay to lean more towards Sonic Adventure in controls, momentum and physics.
Heck SOnic Speed Simulator got Sonic Adventure gameplay down flat so what's Sonic Team's excuse?

Because Sonic Team wanted to try new things.
If they want Sonic Adventure control-like they'll make Sonic Adventure 3 instead
(which something that Iizuka wanted to work but he'll need lot more budget than the usual Sonic games which SEGA probably still won't approve).

Sonic Adventure 3 really need it's own campaign than just budget for the one game. Especially if a "Chao Adventure 3" is involved.

That's what Iizuka wants... multiple characters to play and Chao's garden.
I think the bigger budget is also for hiring more people.
The current Sonic Team is also always busy with "Puyo Puyo Quest" (one of their very profitable mobile games) weekly update,
just like how SEGA HARDLight is always busy updating Sonic Forces & Sonic Dash every week (or Gamefam with Sonic Speed Simulator).

26:43 Oh no! No-no-no Sonic Team don't pull this crap. Amy's been openly in love and honest about her feelings all these years. Don't reduce her to some wishy-washy lovestruck would they won't they bullcrap. That's just so overdone.

Yeah, Amy is even leading the resistance with Knuckles in Forces.
In IDW she even prioritize managing the Resistance over being on journey wit Sonic.
She has matured a lot so making her back like she was in CD/Adventure/Unleashed is kinda dissapointing.
