Yakuza Producer, Daisuke Sato, wants to take on developing a Sonic the Hedgehog Game

Quote
“It’s an IP that I haven’t come to before. In the sense that I want to try it,… well, Sonic.
After all, when you hear SEGA you think Sonic. I’d like to get involved once at least.
But for me, the so call Sonic, is well, if I were to do it, I wouldn’t do Sonic as it was.
I would like to make a completely different Sonic.” – Daisuke Sato

I Love How Yakuza: Like A Dragon Humanizes Homelessness

Quote
The homeless community plays a significant role in the latest Yakuza narrative, and while I had faith that the goodwill would continue in Like a Dragon, it's always a hit or miss in media about how the homeless are portrayed.
For me, the more negative annotations of the homeless hit particularly hard, because that was my reality for a large portion of my life growing up.
Thank you to Yakuza: Like a Dragon for championing marginalized groups, a theme that is prevalent through the Yakuza franchise as a whole.
Thank you for not abandoning that and thank you for not shying away from that vulnerability.

Archipel video interview Toshihiro Nagoshi
to talk about the Yakuza series’s origins and evolution.

Quote
Nagoshi wanted to pursue something that felt closer to their identity.
To do so meant having to give up on a few of their earlier goals.
The first was to give up focusing on the worldwide audience part and instead focus on the Japanese audience.
The next part dropped was the need for a younger audience.
The third major point was when the team decided it was okay if women didn’t like the games.
This led the team to focus on making games for adult Japanese men.
After narrowing down the themes, Sega went with one that involved “outlaws in Japan,” and the rest was history.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon Review – The New JRPG King is Here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knx6dHMj5Qk

Quote
Yakuza: Like a Dragon has engaging characters, high budget cutscenes, an incredible dub, and even better yet a great story to tie it all up.
I found the combat to be great, I think that the job system is brilliant and I’m excited where the future of the Yakuza games goes from here. The team has done nothing but knock it out of the park when it comes to their more recent games.

Japanese only Yakuza: Black Panther on PSP gets English fan patch after 6 years of work

Quote
The PSP exclusive Yakuza: Black Panther (also Black Panther: Yakuza New Chapter) or as its known in Japan Kurohyou: Ryu ga Gotoku Shinshou came out way back in September 2010.
The franchise got a sequel and even a TV show based on the new, younger leading character. Sadly due to low software sales in the west we never got a localization of this spin-off franchise.
There has always been a really good online guide you can use but now you can play it with a fan made patch.

Today we unboxed the Pix’n Love Limited Edition of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. While we have been lucky in the West getting special editions of Yakuza 0 and the premium edition of Yakuza 6, Yakuza: Like a Dragon sadly only got a steelbook version. Well, French publisher Pix’n Love got us covered with their exclusive Limited Edition.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is Niche Gamer’s Game Of The Year 2020

Quote
Like many, we were initially apprehensive when it was announced the next entry in the Yakuza series would be an RPG.
These fears were quickly cast aside.
The world through protagonist Ichiban’s eyes made perfect sense, and an ideal fit for a series that manage to marry serious drama with sheer absurdity.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon is Now Available in ASIA

Release date : February 25, 2021

Quote
SEGA targeted the European and American markets first which resulted in it being released in both regions at the end of 2020 both on consoles and PCs.
But not for the Asian market which seems to have to wait longer without certainty.
Now all stores in Asia such as the PlayStation Store, Steam, and Microsoft Xbox Store will get their own version.
Not only that, the Steam version, which until now still has English without any Japanese on its user-interface and only voice, will get a Japanese patch on February 25, 2021.
