Actually it would be cool if you could create and customise you're own characters in this game...they were going to give you that option in SHENMUE ONLINE but of course it never came out..only RESONANCE OF FATE and the online PHANTASY STAR games really allows you that option.

I don't think that would work in a story rich game like Yakuza, - I'm not a big fan of it either truth be told and not a big fan of these Open World RPG's . To me RPG's should be all about the story and the characters not on sandbox gameplay

I agree with TA, I don't think custom characters fit the Yakuza games.... at least not the main story! What would be cool is a 'Let's make a fighter' mini-game like in Y4, where you could build your own guy, then train him to fight in the underground arenas.

Yeah, they hacked a put in Haruka/the T-Set girls in the place of Kiryu, Saejima etc, it's a funny watch.

NeoGAF is boycotting the game, because they think this is 'cut content' because Sega didn't want the West to have 'Strong female characters'  :-\

Yes.

You should finish 3 and buy 4 regardless, they are just good games.
What are you up to in 3?

Last thing I remember doing was helping some little nerd whom had a crush on one of the older girls at the orphanage.. It's been a while since I've played it.

Really? I loved 3! I hear most people don't like it as much, but I actually liked it better than 4 I think. I preferred one character than having 4 different ones. Also really loved the two cities as opposed to the 3 levels of one city.

I'm behind you on this one, I loved the third one more than the fourth one. Both are good games but I preferred sticking to one single character but I guess it'll come down to how much you like rising the kids. It was a nice change of pace for me.

But yeah Piro, I'd definitely recommend trying out the third one before the fourth.

3 still gets a bad rap due to matter of the excised content, but the atmosphere of the Okinawa parts of the game is wonderful. I also found the fishing minigame at the beach to be surprisingly fun.

The game was still absurdly long with the cut content. Wasn't most of it dating game bullshit anyway?

Why skip a numbered Yakuza game anyway? It's not like we're dealing with Final Fantasy here. It's not a large number of games to get through. Play the first four games before the fifth one comes out is my goal. I'll probably pass on Dead Souls or play it after playing 5.

Dead Souls was shit. I quit the game before even getting half way.

I've heard that Dead Souls might be worth playing if you're a fan of the series already as it has a lot of fanservice, but that outside of that it's a pretty bad game.
