Took nineteen years for Indiana Jones to return, took sixteen years for Star Wars, Duke Nukem took fifteen years, Futurama took seven years...

So I guess there is always hope for the Shenmue franchise to return. His SASASR appearance and the mobile game were the biggest things to happen in the past few years. So I have a small bit of hope.

Though, I do get peeved when other SEGA IPs get sequel after sequel, meanwhile Shenmue has yet to get a third.

Do you guys think a sequel would be as expensive as the other 2 games were?
Do you believe theres is some kind of pre-production of some sort going on?

If they utilized existing engines (Yakuza? VF5? Whatever is in progress for VF6?) then I'm sure they'd save some money. Also, I'll bet all the development in terms of plot and characters is complete, and has been since the 90's.

I was thinking more about the time when Suzuki was "missing". He did some trips to China and such right? Maybe did some new research, new inspirational photos, that sort of thing..
Development of new game mechanics, concepts. New artwork.

I think that some of that stuff is going on right now, they are just waiting for the chance to get to actual programming.

Maybe I'm just delusional, but lately I've been increasingly being more and more interested in the series.

Instead of takin' the slow train, I decided to take the bullet train from Oporto to Aveiro. It was expensive, but it was totally worth it. Got there in less than 35 minutes. For a trip that ussually takes an hour, it was awesome.

The seats were confortable, they serve food and drink, but I just wished they had plugs to charge batteries. It makes sense, since this train is meant to go all the way to Lisbon.

Finished Red Dead Redemption.
Saw the GI Joe 2: Retaliation trailer.
Sonic CD is coming tomorrow.
A Dark Knight Rises trailer will be out in two days.

Thanks! Shadi, George and Sharky have been doing a lot of great behind the scenes stuff. I've just given my thoughts on Shadi's designs and made a majority of the rotating banners. SEGAbits 3.0 is so much better than the first version of the site. I can barely remember what it looked like.

I like the rotating banners (my idea, Shadi implemented it) keeps the place fresh.

I got to thinking what the best console combo was for Sonic games. 360 and Wii has got to be it, thanks to the backwards compatibility allowing XBOX, 360, Gamecube and Wii games:



Add in the Dreamcast for (in my opinion) superior versions of the Adventure titles and Sonic Shuffle.
