Well, Gotham had a terrible pilot,IMO, but so far so good! Loved these last two episodes.

The Flash made a very good first impression with that pilot. The main villain was kinda meh and some of the effects were a little wonky (TV standards, I guess), but overall Grant Justin was perfectly cast as Barry Allen / The Flash. I'll be following his shenanigans fo' sure.

Arrow Season 3 Premiere was also wicked cool. New villains, Ray Palmer, bonus sequence with Barry Allen, more interesting flashbacks and a major WTF moment at the end.

DC Comics is gonna take a while with their Movie Universe going, but right now, their shared TV Universe is making me ubber happy ATM.

I am glad we live in different countries!

Congratulations are in order though! What did you pass your test on, manual or automatic?
Trying to pass in manual in the states is a mistake. I don't know a single person that has passed on manual here.
Thanks everyone btw. Very late reply i know lol.

Here in holland the main method is manual so thats where i passed in.  I can understand what piro was saying because indeed it was very tough.

I'm a lot more loose now tho. The fear of losing your exam money was still ingrained i think lol

Maybe...? =P

Honestly I have no idea but I've never heard of it. We just get a license and it allows us to operate any automobile on the road, manual or auto transmission. For our state, we have to bring in a vehicle for your road test and whatever transmission type you bring in doesn't matter. but there'd be nothing to legally stop me from just taking a manual transmission car on the road if I wanted, but for me  probably being terrible at it

In any case it wasn't an issue brought up to me by the exam proctor or my state's laws when I got my license, but that was a few years ago. Sounds like Portugal makes their drivers put in some work

I'd be interested in knowing about the book pricing. Book pricing seems to be really unique in the world of retail, I know in Aus books were the only product you could advertise as 'saving' off the RRP. I believe this was because books were the only products that had an RRP printed on the product?

It was all very strange and led to retailers advertising books as '$19.99, RRP $49.99' or something.

If it's stuff about Amazon you're trying to read on, I never really looked into it much, but a decent springboard could be looking up Amazon and the publishing company Hachette. It was prominent in the news a couple of months ago

Permanently finished with my girlfriend and fiance of two and a half years. We tried to at least be friends but even that didn't work and now sounds like I've lost an awesome friend too.

It seems like almost everything that can go wrong with my life is going wrong at the moment. Not even a few nice breathers in between, just a consistent sea of depression.

I really sorry to hear that. I understand what you say about that "sea of depression" thing, but in the end i am sure you know is something VERY temporary, depression works like that.
You wiil see that in the future that sea of depression will end and everything will be just a memory.
I send you a hug.

Very sorry to hear about that Aki..
Breakups can bring a man down. Just remember that later in your life you may look back and be happy that it happened and paved the way for something awesome.

I can't give you anything other than best wishes..but do send me your address over PM and I'll hook you up a Super Bock via mail ;)

Sorry to hear as well akhi. Wishing you a lot of luck and patience. I think most of us know how it feels. I kind of went through the same thing in the last months (which is why i was so absent lately). But the good news(license) plus me celebrating that by going on vacation helped a little bit. Its good to change environment and be surrounded by good people every day in situations like this.

Adding to what crack said, ask yourself what you would say to the akhi from 2,5 years ago. I know it may sound silly and may not help when putting it this vaguely. But it helped me a lot selfreflecting and convincing myself that i'd be better off if i had never invested my time in "her" i would have been smiling a lot more right now....... Yeahh... Anyway.... good luck bro

Wow... after watching it I finally understand what the real deal with Gamergate.

I've finally understood GamerGate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dbi-8rPShE&t=00m44s

It all clicks: The eco-chamber on Neogaf, Kotaku and the likes, the selective news pieces, the game show awards, the very specific targeting of opposing views. Now I know I'm not crazy.

Thanks for the well wishing guys, but maybe I should expand on the sea of depression phrase. It wasn't just my relationship trouble, it's just everything that's going on with my life at the moment. I warn you it get's pretty damn depressing.

Firstly my girlfriend breaks up with me in August (And I'll admit I never saw it coming.) we were pretty damn happy. Just a few days before our breakup she even baked me brownies and presents too so it was a complete shock. At least we were friends still, eh?

Then the even worse news hits. My father spent sometime in the hospital in September after what we thought was a heart attack, his been having irregular heart beats for a while and when the doctor's finally brought him in at first they thought it was a stomach ulcer that was causing him to lose blood that lead to his heart being out of rhythm. Then the day he got discharged they told us it is infact stomach cancer. Worse still whilst the doctor's at first thought he had a timeframe of living between a year to five, seeing a cancer specialist gave the news that he's on the last stage of his cancer and might have between 6 months to a year to live.

Then I found out some people I trusted and had my utter most faith were going round my back and taking things that should legitimately belong to me. The realisation didn't hurt me as much as I thought it would, just completely disappointed in myself for trusting them in the first place.

And then Saturday did a complete number on me as it seems my friendship with my girlfriend is lost too. Damn all of this.

In the end I'm just burying my head more in my work, anime, comics and video games. Basically anything.

Sorry to hear as well akhi. Wishing you a lot of luck and patience. I think most of us know how it feels. I kind of went through the same thing in the last months (which is why i was so absent lately). But the good news(license) plus me celebrating that by going on vacation helped a little bit. Sorry to hear that man :/ I thought about going vacation but all the stuff with my father means I had to put that on a stop. I'm not sure how much more better of I was if I never met my girlfriend, infact she helped me a lot in my life that I didn't realise I might have needed help on, but just got to keep moving and finding a reason to live I guess.

depression has been building up in me the last couple of days. i just. i dunno

i dont keep posting about it here everyday cause it doesnt do any good, but at the same time i find it

i dont know, maybe it's the gray sky today making me feel so bad.

Thing is, everyone suffers from depression, but when your experiencing it you feel like your the only one experiencing it. You have to remind yourself its not just you. So I feel that in a way it's almost selfish to talk about how your depressed when there is probably people you know experiencing similar feelings and just not saying anything. I just got done deleting a post i made on fb. no one wants to see that crap. It's not easy to hold in though, so I find this topic a good place just to vent i guess. even if i don't say much

does anyone else who is depressed feel the same way?

Hey Aki, really sorry to hear things have been going so tough for you recently. I really, truly wish you the best and please let me know if you ever want to talk or anything like that. I know you used to lend your ear to me quite a bit a few years back when MSN and IRC was still a thing on here.

I've had family members diagnosed with cancer in the past too and it's one of the hardest things you can go through, but I know you'll make it.

Usually break ups lead to better things man. I was dating a girl for 4 years when we split and i took it pretty hard, at the time i thought it was the worst thing that could have ever happened. 5 years later, i got married, have a kid, a decent job and quite honestly i couldn't be more thankful for that.

Aki, i know the last thing you want to hear is that things get easier and you move on. It's gonna be rough, so i'm not going to say that you won't be consistently reminded, but it does get better after a while.

Guys want a funny update? The roof just gave way at my house's extension. Which gypsy witch did I piss off recently?! To be honest I can't help but laugh anymore at this point.

Thanks man, I'm trying to pull through it, I have to admit that being able to get things off my chest has helped me a lot. I was just like how Will is, I honestly thought it was selfish of me to openly discuss my problems but it's helped a lot now that I dumped it all in this thread and be able to discuss it with friends.

And don't worry, tarpmortar recently added you to the crazy SEGAbits Skype chat where we hold wild parties with coke cola and big titty American men.

It has been tough, I honestly thought this was going to be the girl I was going to marry. We talked about getting married soon, the sudden announcement of the breakup and subsequent bad news was just slowly pushing me over the edge. Just when I think things couldn't get worse, something else props up! But
thanks for the support man.

The best thing that you can possibly due is keep yourself busy. Go out with friends and dive into work and i mean a ton of work. I've found that the best way to get over things like these are to go out and meet people or work a shit ton, haha. Things may look horrible now, but you'll be fine, we always are. =)

Edit; left it on there long enough, i won't invite the world to read that stuff, haha.
