I think you might get a kick out of Rise of the Dragon. It's not an fmv game, it's a point and click adventure that feels like an interactive comic book. Everything is voice acted, no reading walls of text. Art style is very much 90s cyber punk/Blade Runner influenced. Best of all it's very affordable. Usually $5.

Also reccomend both Ecco games for their superior soundtracks.

Silpheed is also a great, affordable, 3d shmup.

No problem sir :D. I found racketboy to be really helpful when I was building up my Dreamcast library.
www.vgmuseum.com/ and HG101 are pretty good resources too.

I second Rise of the Dragon. It's a great game. I also highly recommend Soul Star, which is a beautifully made 3D-esque space shooter. I reviewed them recently on my webseries, My Life with SEGA. Here's the links....

Some of the FMV games aren't bad. I enjoyed Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Road Avenger. Another good point-and-click adventure is Willy Beamish. A lot of gamers have shat on that one, but I dug it.

Thanks guys.  So far I have ordered Shining Force CD, Dungeon Explorer and a backup ram cart.  (I heard you can't save all 3 parts of SFCD with the internal memory of the Sega CD.

Still waiting for my Genesis video cable to come in the mail so I can see what I'm doing.  I have an older slot-loading Sega CD and a Genesis 1, so without being able to see, I can't even open the CD tray.

Don't be so fast to dismiss the FMV games , quite a few of them were very good and Dracula Unleashed in particular is up there with Snatcher and Rise of the Dragon . FMV games like Tomcat, Prize Fighter, Ground Zero are all great fun too, never mind the likes of Cobra Command and Road Adv ECT

Must buys for the Mega CD are

Batman Returns - This games not only shows what the Mega CD could do, but is also imo the best 16 bit racer ever made

Lunar - The best RPG ever made

Lunar II - while the story and cast of characters aren't quite as special, this is a master piece and way way better than the Saturn or PS remakes

Rise of The Dragon - Right up there with Snatcher imo

Battle Corps - One of the best Mech games around and the soundtrack is a killer

Wing Commander - Such an overlooked Mega CD classic , in many ways this was better than the PC floppy version

Popfual Mail - Such a charming action platformer

Switch - SEGA at it's wacky best

Jaguar XJ200 - Lovey racer with one of the best soundtracks around

Dune

Third World war - Epic sim based game so over looked and underrated

Final Fight - The Arcade in your home and SEGA sound team going wild

Sonic CD- the best Sonic 2D game around

Soul Star - Pretty epic shooter

Robo Aleste - The best Aleste game around

Jurassic Park - Stunning Point and Click game

Heart Of the Alien

Cliffhanger - Worth it alone for the snowboard parts and the epic soundtrack

Thanks TA.  I did get Lunar and Popful Mail.

Right now the SEGA CD gods are laughing at me.  I bought (re-bought) a Genesis 1 (I like that one the best), slot-loading SEGA CD and 32X.  SO when my Genesis arrived, there was no AV cable.  I bought one from Amazon for 5$ and it didn't work.  There was sound but no video.  After a long time of trouble-shooting, googling and buying a second and 3rd AV cable, I discovered that the cable isn't the problem, it's my TV.  Apparently some HD TV's can't display the 240p resolution that the Genesis displays.  I played with it for a long time and finally got a video signal by running it through a Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge into the Mac Mini hooked up to my TV, but it would only display the SEGA CD when I started recording!  If that wasn't enough, I see that to open the CD tray, I am supposed to hit the reset button.  That's cool.  I do that and the tray won't open.

Aaargh!!!! >:(

So I have a little TV/Monitor that I bought in like 2001 with AV inputs.  I'm sure that will work if I can figure out where to set it up, but for the tray not opening, I have no idea.

Dude you should totally get Silpheed.

It's a vertical space shooter with polygons over FMV to make it a smoothlookin' bomb of a game. I simply love it.

@Team Andromeda - Cliffhanger?! Really?! Okay, were you able to get past that fucking snowboarding stage? I only ask because I played it for over an hour and couldn't beat it. I was so frustrated with the whole thing, I damn near threw it in the fucking garbage.

Yes the 1st one , not the 2nd game . Anyway you can put a cheat in to skip to the Snowboard stages and even have a time trial , which is awesome fun imo

So now I bought a cheap little almost-HD flat screen TV and hooked up the Genesis to it.  The Sega CD tray won't open, so I'm waiting for new system to arrive in the mail.  Haven't gotten my 32X yet either.
