Actually I think this makes them look like a worse company all things considered. Square Enix is seen as the Japanese Activision (was going to say EA, but lol) and they have constant hits on every platform outside of Wii, but SEGA has way more staff?

I think Sega is far more diversified than any of those other game developers and publishers... a lot more hardware, toys, and real estate, in addition to games.

SEGA Sammy has animation studios, construction companies, video game teams, amusement centres, gambling palours, production lines for arcade and pachislot machines and so on. They are a conglomerate after all, it's normal for them to have much more staff.
