It's Official. SEGA will acquire Rovio Entertainment for roughly $775M.

SEGA seeks to utilize Rovio's live-service expertise to bring SEGA's "current and new titles to the global mobile gaming market" + expand trans-media opportunities.
The Acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of FY2024/3 and is contingent on the completion of reviews under applicable antitrust laws and other customary conditions.

Great... an event that makes me collect even more crap than last time, all for the same skin I already got.
Well, at least I got the Blue Star from Zero Gravity out of it.

I think SEGA aims more for the studio, not for the games / franchises.
Mobile is the future after all.
Remember that even Japanese version of "Project Sekai / Hatsune Miku : Colorful Stage" alone gains more money than Worlwide revenue for "Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis".

Those games' revenue never made SEGA's mobile Top 10 chart, I doubt adding her would sell a lot enough let alone to share its profit to Crypton and Piapro.
