404 GAME RE:SET to end service on January 5, 2024

"Offline compatible version" of 404 GAME RE:SET will be available after the service ends

Regarding the period until the end of the service, the scenario will be released in chapter 9 on December 13th and chapter 10 on January 5, 2024 (the day of the end of the service), and will be completed with this 10th chapter. Additionally, when the maintenance begins on January 5th, game data will no longer be downloadable, so you will need to download the game data in advance to view Chapter 10.
However, development is underway to distribute an "offline compatible version" after the service ends, and it appears that you will be able to read all up to chapter 10 of the scenario here as well. There is also a function to look back on the cast members and figures you have acquired, so you won't have to lose the cast members you are attached to.

Roblox is successful for a number of reasons. It's a platform that allows you to make your own games, Robucks allows users to make freemium content and the fact it is both a mobile, PC and soon to be console game means it is highly accessible to a wide audience of players. And as much as I complain about Sonic Speed Simulator, when I play it I easily forget it's a Roblox game given the "experience" use textures from Sonic games as well as original models and content making it look less blocky and more Sonic-like.

But just because Sonic Speed Sim passes off as a Sonic games doesn't make it a good Sonic game.

Still, there are Sonic games which were worse than Sonic Speed Simulator.

Does that mean 404 GAME RE:SET is coming to an end?

Yes. It'll be changed into offline version (just like "Sonic at the Olympic Games - Tokyo 2020" mobile game and Sonic Runners Adventure) but still unclear whether it'll be Japanese only or not.

Oh yeah, certainly. Rarely see "official" Sonic games with open-explorable areas.

got places to go,
gotta follow my rainbow.

It would be nice if it had a deluxe Steam release or something of the like... But same could be said for SegaGaga, the semi-prequel to RE:SET.

Hopefully there will be. Also eventough the game came to end, good thing is they still prepare two more story chapters for this to close the story.
Unlike SEGA Heroes whose story ended up in the middle with main villainess (Dremagen) is still around and undefetaed.
