Modern Sega Classics of the new millenium.

We all know what the Sega arcade legends are. We know what is considered to be the classics of the MS, MD and Saturn, GG and Dreamcast.

But what is considered to be the classic and even legendary titles from Sega from the period of 2001-2009 their first decade as a third party?

What Sega game is considered a modern classic or has grown in legendary status?

I can only guess what may pop up.

The Yakuza series for sure. Bayonetta is fantastic, but not entirely a SEGA title just because PG worked on it. Then again, people rave about Ecco and TJ&E from the MD era, so I'd guess Bayonetta falls under that category. All-Stars Racing Transformed, simply because it's the first time in a while that a Sonic title gave a Mario title a run for its money.

But SASASR:T can't count because it just came out. It has to be a title from 2001-2010.

Oh, my bad. Though you originally said "2001-2009" not "2001-2010". So which is it???

In that case, I'd trade out ASRT with ASR (if 2010 is the limit) since the original was a great game as well and given what it lead to (ASRT) I'd put it up there as one of the best modern era titles.

 Excluding the sequels and characters games, I would say that:

- Ryu Ga Gotoku
- Bayonetta
- 7th Dragon
- Vanquish
 ...are the best original titles Sega has made on this decade.

 Gun Valkyrie I liked, but it has weird controls... End of Eternity is very well made, but the battle system is horrible. World Destruction was good, but the story is horrible too.

 I hope they does another AAA original title for consumer consoles. Not only digital things...

  YES! I was afraid when saw the pics and movies, but once played it, OMG! It was awesome!!! Very well balanced, colorful graphics, extremely wonderful sounds and musics, good gameplay and THE SAME dynamic battle system from Phantasy Star 4! I LOVED IT! Extremely fast and no bullshit!

 The story is a bit bland, and the flowers on the maps are annoying. That's my only complaint.

 I have not finished it yet lol.... and I will try the PSP version too!

Binary Dmain and PSO 2 and a few others cant count because they were released recently. Only games between 2001-2010 which had time to garner thweir status, not games outside of that.

Huh, really? Phantasy Star 4 you say...you made me curios at least.

I like the graphics in the first game, and how simple they are. But the 2020 games look stereotypical Anime like in those new Shining games. Unappealing to me, I don't associate that with Sega at all...
