Also let's celebrate with music

I've been waiting a long time for this to hit XBLA. I really hope they put more effort into this port than they did Crazy Taxi. Namely, don't change the soundtrack (signs look good so far) and put a miniscule amount of effort into the graphics rather than just stretching the existing game into widescreen.

This is glorious!! But sadly, it also mean I can finally let my Dreamcast go. :'( Goodbye my love. You've been one of the greatest systems ever.

^Someone on another forum had a great idea about Dreamcast. Sega should re-release it with a bunch of their first party titles pre-loaded on the HDD (Sonic Ad. 1 and 2, JSR, Skies, Crazy Taxi etc) and sell it as a plug n' play console. I would buy one for each TV.

In any event, I'll still hang onto my DC, if only NBA Showtime NBA on NBC, which still hasn't been ported (I didn't like the new NBA Jam), and Resi 2 (which shockingly hasn't seen a re-release either). Also Soul Reaver which I bought so long ago and haven't played yet. Oh and Shadowman, which I haven't had the pleasure of finishing yet. Aaand Shenmue 1 and 2 which are still my all time favourite games ever. Fuck it, Dreamcast will never die.

I doubt this will make the Dreamcast version obsolete. Unless the PSN/XBLA version can do the following things, the Dreamcast version will not be "killed off" with the PSN/XBLA port:

• Import custom photos with Dreameye and the web browser
• Full uncut soundtrack
• Japanese AND American voices

I reacted like a hyperactive Twilight fangirl.

But DAAMN, SEGA, it took nearly two years to start workin' on another port? This one should be interesting. Because as far as I know, Jet Set Radio was never ported to any other system, so assuming that SEGA Shangai is handling this one, I think there's going to be little room for shortcuts.

I'm also curious as to see what's coming out next...

They released a batch of 4 titles, so I'm assuming that JSR is not the only title that's in the pipeline.

That would be difficult since Sega Shanghai doesn't exist anymore.
Since the digital side of things seems to be concentrated in america, they usually handle it unless its a specific title that hasn't been ported to consoles like AFTERBURNER CLIMAX, VF5 SHOWDOWN and HOTD 4.

Oh, so they're not working on this title? OK, I'm a little more confident now. Here's hoping to a very good port.

the question regarding the soundtrack also concerns me. either way, it's good news that such an enjoyable and stylish game as jet grind radio is going to receive more exposure.

I don't think we should be worried about the soundtrack, considering most of the songs are owned by Sega, correct? There might be a few that won't make the cut (I think Super Brother was licensed for example) but most of it was original for the game I believe.

It's not like Crazy Taxi where the music was all licensed from Bad Religion and Offspring.
