Is this even coming out?
Wasn't it supposed to be the first game supported by dx10 on pcs or something?

Yes, it is coming out. Not on PCs though. That version was canceled.

Am I the only person here who finds it ironic that the new game coming out is a reference to the GameCube game?

Yes, I know what you mean: "This upcoming game has nothing to do with GC's Luigi's Mansion"

Then what did you mean by the 'new game' being a reference to the gamecube game?

When I looked at the title from the main thread, it reminded me Luigi's Mansion (where you play as Luigi, Mario's brother, and wander around inside a spooky-like castle) where you can use this vaccum-thing (can't remember what) in order to attack or capture evil Boos.

Emphasis on using a flashlight to stun things too.
