It doesn't have limited to be a live action movie.
It could be just an animated movie.
Like Wreck-It-Ralph.
The movie has SEGA, Capcom, Namco, and Nintendo characters.

Wreck-it-Ralph movie I don't mind because while it's a compilation of various classic games the story concentrates on Rallh and the video game characetrs are more portrait as actors on the down time.
Trivia : Sonic Movie 2 novelization confirms that Sonic comes from the planet Mobius!
Mentions of the planet do not appear in the film.

Kids movies tends to got mediocre reviews, not everyone could enjoy them.

I hope when the DVD comes out these cut scenes will be viewable.

It would be a solid reason to buy them, especially for Jim Carrey fans.
There is Jim Carrey fanpage in Facebook that's actively promote the movie to the fans since it could be the last Jim Carrey movie for a long time.
I'm sure they're also gonna promote the DVD version again if it contains them.

Interview:  Colleen O'Shaughnessey (Tails) says she nearly cried when she finally met Jim Carrey

Quote
Q : "What was it like coming full circle and getting to meet the rest of the cast and crew of this film closer to the premiere?"

Colleen : "I went up to Jim Carrey to introduce myself, and I just assumed he didn't know who I was. So I was like, "Hi, I'm Colleen, I play Tails."
He grabbed both of my hands, and he's very tall and I'm very short. So he grabbed both of my hands and he bent over and went, "I know."
And it was so sweet. He had the sweetest smile on his face, and I was like, "I'm gonna cry." And I know he said something after that, and I'm sure I said things too, but I have no idea beyond that what either of us said.

But everyone could not have been more welcoming. James Marsden gave me a hug like we've been friends for years. He introduced me to his kids, I introduced him to mine. It's just been glorious."

Minecraft and Roblox, lol. Guess I was too late to stop my kids playing those.

Idris Elba : "When my agent called with this, he didn’t even get to finish his sentence. I was like, 'yes, absolutely'"
Also Warns about Minecraft and Roblox

Quote
That’s partly because Elba (49) is a dedicated fan of video games, and partly because he (like the author of this article) is the father of a 7-year-old son and was eager to make some movies they could share as a family.
“You and I remember those first early games, and now here we are.
Our sons are like, ‘Wow, I can see “Sonic 2” with my dad.’ That’s special.”
Even so, when I mention that my son and I have also bonded over video games, Elba warns: “Is he into Minecraft and Roblox? Be careful. Be aware. You might lose your child.”

Imagine what it must  be like working on the Sonic movie? Not only would you be making a movie based on your favourite game series but rubbing elbows with Jim Carrey, Idris Elba and Colleen O'Shaughnessey.

Heaven-like feeling. That would be something that they could brag to their grandchildren later.

Streets of Rage Movie in the works with John Wick creator behind the project

Quote
Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog movie’s success has now gotten the studio interested in going forward with a movie based on Streets of Rage.
This project will be done under dj2 Entertainment, who recently also signed a contract with Amazon to adapt the video game “It Takes Two” to film or TV.

As much as I praised this on the other thread, my only concern is that when I think of Streets of Rage, I think of '80s-mid'90s movies like Kurt Russel movies or The Warriors or Dragon Warriors movie. Y'know kung-fu, city-based yet colourful. What Kung Fury did (Did you know Kung Fury is getting a sequel?). I'm pretty sure Streets of Rage was inspired by the same sources as Kung Fury movies.

My concern Streets of Rage will be some modern generic action flick like the John Wick movies were. Derek Kolstad makes generic action movies about generic thugs with generic celebrity actors shooting at other generic bad guys while the camera goes back and forth all action like because it's the only way to make shootouts look cool.
Then car chase scenes with sponsored vehicles and explosions.
And John Wick movies had thick single-coloured filter which would be either blue, green or piss-yellow.

If we were to have a Streets of Rage movie, I'd want it like any of Jackie Chan movies that involve law-enforcement (Rush Hour, Police Story etc). They're modern police action movies with guns, car-chases and such but Jackie Chan makes sure to make interesting and colourful characters and city location and gratuitous ammounts of Kung-fu and daring stunts over guns.

I'd be dissapointed if Streets of Rage ends up a forgettable action movie like Kolstads movies without Keanu Reeves in them.

Yeah, Rush Hour and Police Story approach will be nice.
As for me, about the time setting, I don't want them to force that it's happened in 80s/90s like Wonder Woman 84.
Just make it colorful and not too dark would be enough.
Also balance in story, action, and humour.
Humour-less video game adaptation movie tends to be forgettable.

Whenever Kolstad decide it to be a modern or mid-90s movie or not, I just don't want it to be a generic "pew-pew" action movie.
Here are trailers to movies Derek written for (but didn't produce).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8nw8r0xRoM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCx5eJ6gNoU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCSzBtwnoGk

Do you see my concern? Streets of Rage is about cops resolving conflict WITH THEIR FISTS! These movies are about mobsters or thugs just shooting at each other.

Now, Derek Kolstad did Co-executive produce The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, even writing for the episodes Power Broker and The Whole World Is Watching which of course involves shoot outs, but at least he has some experiance writing for shows that are not just about shoot outs.

But you can see my concern for choosing Derek Kolstad. Strets of Rage is about street crime resolve with brawling. I don't want to see Axel Stone and Adam Hunter hiding behind some cars or barricades shooting guns at generic thugs who are shooting with guns. Streets of Rage is a beat 'em up, not a shooting game.

Damn.. That's true. SoR without beating many people at once with fist's like Street Fighter without one on one fighting.
Now I'm afraid that it would be like House of the Dead movie.
Axl and friends were cops in whole movie, using mostly guns, and only quit their jobs at the end of the movie.
