The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories is now 75% off in the Nintendo eShop!
Sale ends on May 12, 2022.

Quote
The sudden disappearance of a dear friend spurs J.J. Macfield to go look for her friend on the curious Island of Memories.
You can’t die on this nightmare island, even if you’re seriously injured. No matter how many times J.J.’s brought back from the grips of death, she drags her mangled body deeper into the woods.
She risks the suffering of having her arms and legs torn off, her neck broken, immolation…all in order to find her friend.
J.J. sacrifices her own body and life on this journey so she can discover the answers to her questions: Why did my friend leave? What is this uncomfortable feeling?

So this protagonist can't die, but can still get injured and must endure the injuries regardless how fatal they are?

Imagine having a broken neck! It be like a case of globus but with a shard of cervical wedged into your throat.

Well, she has a regeneration power like Wolverine, but it's too slow so it's kinda painful.
Also the story of the game is rather dark...
J.J. realizes that she can't have a broken neck if she has no neck, after all.
Getting decapitated while afflicted by a broken neck relieves the effects of the latter injury.
She can still roll around and hop just as a head only.
In fact this is sometimes required to fit through tiny passages.

Immortality indeed came up with its flaws.

Does she regenerate a new naked body from the neck down or must she re-attach her head or something afterwards?

Dang... That's the most traumatic scene (yet funny) from Deadpool in my opinion.. lol...

She can regenerate any body from the neck down as long as her head's intact.
But the game wasn't as funny as Deadpool, it's kinda scary since the game theme is ... suffering.
The gameplay loop of "injure yourself and regenerate" is used to directly parallel player's own suffering.

But if you think about it, she wants to save a friends life, so she is suffering for a friend. Isn't that endearing?

And surely her clothes regenerate as well or something.

Yes, even Jesus himself said, "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends."

Yeah, unrealistic but they have to kept the rating to the ... wait a minute, the game rating is already mature!

Still not sure this is a yuri game or not.
Although zashiki-warashi are usually a female child, it can also be a little boy (with a kappa haircut).

Still unclear from this trailer whether Zashiki-Warashi is a male or female...

I know I shouldn't be that curious on how the clothing would work, but given the 18+ rating, I'm just curious whenever or not yes or no at this point.

I presume her clothes regenerate.

It's reminding me more of Roommania, but pervy. Surprised wholesome Nintendo would be cool with this.

Do you mean the proteagonist girl? I'm pretty sure shes obviously a girl. The text even refers to her as a college girl.

Yeah... turned out her clothes are also immortal..

No, I meant the ghost / spirit.
We are playing as them, not as Sachi, the college girl.
Here's the detail of the game according to Nintendo's website :

Take on the role of a Zashiki-Warashi, a house-bound spirit that can bring good fortune, and peer into Sachi's life (though she can't see you). You'll see some of her more vulnerable moments and have no choice but to intervene from time to time, but it's all to guide her toward a bright future!

Give her direction while she's at home and help her grow her parameters in all kinds of ways. Your guidance will determine the future she ultimately heads toward. There are 20 total paths awaiting Sachi, and it's up to you to help her find them!

I guess the gender of the spirit depends on how horny you are playing this game.

Eh, depends on your definition of angels and demons. But given this is a pervy weeb game likely angels and demons will end up as cute girls regardlessly.
