I know... especially getting After Burner Climax still kind of blows my mind.  If I could just break 1,000,000 points in it... I'm so close...

Anyhoo, I'll finally get to play a bit of Sega Rally this afternoon.

Giant Bomb did a quick look of the game: http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-seg ... e/17-4142/
Do note that these videos are simply their first impressions. They shouldn't compare it to DiRT so much though. Like someone in the comments there said, comparing this game to DiRT is like comparing Ridge Racer to Gran Turismo.

I broke down and ordered it from the Xbox site. Can't wait to retrieve my system next week!

Agreed. Of course, from my perspective when I played the DiRT demo it was more like, "How does this compare to SEGA Rally?"

I did like in the video where the guys goes, "Did he say 'maybe?' Medium left maybe?"   I remember being that guy in 1995.

Finally played it, love it, need to learn how to carve some corners better. I was pleased to play the classic Desert stage and still do well on it. I have a lot of practice to do before I try to play online again... that's for sure.

Once I saw the amount of tracks and the size of the download I held off my purchase for awhile. I actually might wait for a Deal of the Week instead.

How long does it take to play everything? Not beat them, just play.

A Quick Race, with 3 laps, takes about 3 minutes. Same with Time Attack and Classic.

I'm enjoying it so far.  I played online for a little while against someone unbeatable, but it was still fun.

I never played against people who were actually good at this game (my friends were terrible), so I've had some intense matches with people. It's a completely different game when human opponents are swerving around and ramming into you. It can be tough to find matches though...

I just watched a review of this game, and I noticed something kinda different from not only sega rally, but racers in general.

The camera.
When you turn/steer, the camera stays statically behind your car. I don't know if this can be changed, but it looks a bit awkward... or I may have to get used to it (cuz i'm planning to buy the game).

What do you guys think of it, and do you have an option to change this?

I finally won an online match last night, but only one out of about ten races altogether.  I notice that bumping into other cars is not that good of a tactic for gaining the lead, as it seems to slow you down a bit.

I haven't really noticed that about the camera being totally static... but I'm pretty sure you can also switch to a hood view.  I'll double-check this afternoon.

If you are playing Sega Rally, you really should be using the bumper cam... Its honestly the best way to feel like you're playing a Sega Rally game.

Honestly when I got Sega Rally 'Revo' I played a lap in 3rd person behind the car view and I was like 'This doesn't really feel like Sega Rally' then I changed the camera to Bumper Cam and instantly it was like I was playing a HD Sega Rally.

Ended up playing that game right until the bitter end when it died online.
