Not sure how good this is looking.  Right now it reminds me of a poor man's Bolt.  And with this being helmed by the director of Gnomeo and Juliet, I don't have much hope.  Still, it is exciting to see Sega branch out and Marza's top class animation has always deserved to be noticed.

I think it looks cute from the image, but yeah, who knows what the story will be like. Also the original source says "It marks the first original 3D CG animated film from Marza, a Tokyo and US-based production company owned by Sega Sammy." Pretty sure Marza has no US location, unless something changed, but surely we would of heard about it.

They do have an San Francisco office (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marza_Animation_Planet) but I don't know what that entails.

So it is likely nothing more than an office within SoA's office. When I visited SoA, I didn't see Marza on the building directory:



So likely they just use SoA as their office for mail and meetings and such.

Not sure how this would be a "poor man's version of Bolt", considering that the plot doesn't really sound much like it at all. Unless the robot dog thinks he's something he's not and needs to face the fact that he's not that.

Still have low expectations for this though.

Well, I was just more referring to the fact that it is also a story about a teenage girl and her dog.  It's a shallow comparison, but it's the one I immediately made.

The guy from Peabody aside, the previous work of most of the people involved screams mediocre. Not awful, not great, just...meh.

So that is exactly what I expect from this movie. Unless Gnomeo is as awful as it sounds.
